Did everyone check their bdo account after the news came out? I use the BDO app the other day and it mandates you to change password.
mandates, as in requires?
baka naman, "recommendation" lang...
so what happens if you do not change your password?
some of these password-requiring facilities probably think, incorrectly, that theirs is the only facility in the account holder's life, that requires a password.
haven't they considered the possibility that each person probably has to memorize four to six passwords at any given time?
even old passwords have a way of lingering in one's mind, muddling up the memory banks...

a few months ago,
i was getting text messages from a number, asking me to do something... upgrading my BDO account.
but as i did not have a BDO account, i did... nothing.
looking back,
it must have been a fishing expedition.
heh heh.
After the BDO incident, most, if not all, banks required password change of online accounts ... hacks of this magnitude usually requires an inside man ... or in the era of internet, all you need is one careless IT department personnel clicking on a link ...

based on actual experience only my checking account with security bank ang nagpapa reset ng password regularly I think every couple of months yata. Basta mag notify na expired na password and need to change it, I don't remember na ginagawa ng ibang accounts ko yan with other banks.

none of our banks we have accounts in, have asked us to change our passwords.
i don't BDO. so i got suspicious, when i got text messages to "..upgrade my BDO account".
and we get phone calls from salesfolk, asking if were interested in this or that.
my reply is always, "send me on paper, your proposal".
they never did.

iba ung katangahan na binibigay ang username/password/OTP (ito tanga talaga)
iba naman ung nakapasok ang hacker sa system ng BDO to steal usernames and passwords (ito di natin masisi sa acct holder)
