    Hi Sir, have you figured this out already? Im interested in buying the Primeguard G1W from Kimstore at P2290 for my old car.
    To current users, is the primeguard from Kimstore fake/copy only? Hows your experience so far?
    Just bought today xiaomi yi from maricelonline at 3300.
    Thanks

    for those who are using Xiaoyi Yi dash cam, any issues about the unit overheating? I saw a review on YouTube saying na yung battery daw nya (lithiom ion?) not for warm climate like ours. Dapat daw capacitor ang battery like the Transcend.

    I'm sort of leaning to the Yi kasi it's cheaper.
    Anong transcend and capacitor?

    ^From what I've read here, DP 200.

    To all, after reading the posts in this thread since January 2016, I'm now choosing between the ff:

    1. Xiaomi Yi (lithium ion)
    2. Transcend DP 220 (lithium ion, but more expensive than Yi)
    3. Viofo A119 (capacitor, price is between the 2)

    Your comments/inputs would be highly appreciated.

    I've already posted about this a few pages back. The Yi does all the basics, and it does it very well. And for 3.2k it is quite a steal. The nearest A119 I could find is about 800 pesos more expensive. Now you have to ask yourself, are the marginal advantages of the A119 over the Xiaomi worth 800 pesos? If so, then get that, if not, then scratch that off your list.

    Now do the same with the DP220. The cheapest I could find is about 5,800 pesos (which is from the same seller where I got my DP520). Are the advantages (if any) of the DP220 worth 2,600 pesos more? Is it even worth getting over the DP200, which has a wider viewing angle, has a capacitor, and is 900 pesos cheaper? Transferring video via wifi is a b!tch with my SP520, so I don't find it a compelling feature. The GPS is nice but is of limited value. You only need it when you want to watch your video on special desktop software that superimposes your trip over Google Maps. Since I don't, I have no use for GPS.

    You know your needs and desires. If you feel the Yi doesn't scratch your itch, then weigh in the differences between your other two choices and decide. I was going to buy a Yi but decided to get the DP520 because I wanted a second camera to capture the interior of my car. I think the Yi is just a great value proposition that makes it hard to choose the others.

    The best way to find out is to ask them for the spec of the unit. Ask what processor it uses. If possible, ask for actual pictures of the box.

    Thanks for your thoughts *DannyJr. Since lithium ion din ang DP220, i might leave it out of my list. the advantages of the A119 over the Yi for me are:

    1. color (black, not gray or gold, so less conspicous);
    2. shape;
    3. capacitor, not lithium ion;
    4. not suction type;

    From what I've researched, the price difference between the 2 is about 1.8K (3,200 or 3,300 versus 5,000). I don't know if my 4 advantages listed above is worth 1.8K. Hahaha.

    Only you can say if that's worth the premium or not. As for the price of the A119, I saw a seller a few weeks ago that had a few units for 3,999. Looks like his ad isn't in OLX anymore. Baka naubos na. I believe there was a third seller in OLX that had it for 4,200, pero wala na rin. Oh well, yung 4,999 lang natira. So, kung yan lang price ng A119, wow ang layo.

    BTW, you can find the DP200 for 4,900 to 5,000 from FB sellers.

    Bummer on the higher price for the A119. My concern about the DP200 is the video quality. Not as good as the Yi or the A119.

    alsin ang dashcam (at iba pa bagay na maibebenta ulet) pag ipaparada sa unsecured area ang tsikot, basta madali pitikin eh wala kawala sa magnanakaw yan, may souvenir ka pa basag na salamin (double gastos ka pa)

    Video quality is not that big of a deal, especially daytime quality. I have used various resolutions on my dashcam, and anything HD (720p) and above is good enough. It can capture enough video detail to get you out of trouble is you're involved in an accident. Which is why we have dashcams in the first place. The nighttime quality, I think, is the only important one to consider. I've checked videos on Youtube, and it looks decent enough for that.

    Here's a video I captured in 720p using an LG G2 Mini attached to a cellphone holder and running the CaroO Android app (before I bought my dashcam):

    VIDEO

    Even with the low HD resolution, it can capture decently good daytime detail to see the almost-accident. BTW, excuse my profanity.

    So don't worry too much about video quality. You're not filming a movie. Keep that in mind.

    For now ok na ako sa xiaomi yi. big improvement in night time videos over my previous sj4000. i don't neet gps, lane departure and front collision warning (meron ata ang yi), or the wifi (meron din ang yi). i just need the basic functions like auto start/stop with engine and loop recording.

    siguro mahihiling ko na lang dual camera na same performance para meron na rin sa likod .

    and if discreetness ang habol nyo sa yi, you can paint the front flat black like what i did.

    isa pa nga pala na comment ko lang sa xiaomi yi is with the mount. medyo maalog. so pag malubak, kita yung vibrations sa screen.

    Ganyan talaga sa karamihan ng mounts. Maski sa Transcend ganyan din. The problem is the mount is narrow. Tendency niyan is mag sway kapag sa lubak. Parang sa sumo wrestling. Mas madali tulakin ang matangkad na payat, pero yung mataba at katamtaman ang tangkad, mahirap.

    Compare mo yung long and narrow stalk ng mount ng Yi (see also the ball joint buckle):

    Ngayon tingnan mo wide and short mount ng Blackvue:

    Yan ang tradeoffs ng entry level dashcams sa mga premium models.

    been using a G1W-C for more than a week na....and i'm satisfied. di kagay nung gs8000L na unreliable. haven't checked the videos pero as per my wife mukhang klaro naman daw compared sa dati.

    so far don't need GPS. kung kelangan ko man yung hidden dapat kako.

    don't need wifi for now tutal may globe tattoo naman ako.

    lane departure, forward collision warning, etc....no need....

    just the basic need.

    Bought my Viofo A119 sa safecar for 3,990 + 170 shipping.. very satisfied sa performance. nakadikit sya sa WS ng double sided tape at hindi sya suction cup kaya walang galaw ang video.. downside is hindi pwede irotate ang cam paharap sa loob.

    ok na sana yung viofo sa options ko kaso yun nga hindi mairotate papunta sa driver's side or any side sa car just in case.

    Totoo ba na ang dapat lang gamitin na microSD card ay class 10, para sa mga dashcam?
