Be sure to use a low-amp charger to avoid overheating. Most car chargers have 2A ratings, some even have 3A. My SJ4000 is routed directly to my ignition (not cigarette lighter port), using a 1A charger.

AFAIK, a high amp charger should not be a problem. The amp rating is the max it can provide. The actual current (amp) that will drawn from the charger depends on your device.

If you have a 1A device plugged in a 3A charger, that charger will supply only the required current (amp).

    Am I right?

exactly..kung ano lang ang kayang kainin amperahe ng gadget mo. un lang ang ibibigay sa kanya.remember sa amperahe lang yan.sa voltahe hindi pwede kailangan sakto.

Should be, if the device pulls just the right voltage. It's just that I don't trust the china-made SJCAM's circuitry, nor do I trust most car chargers.

Just buy transcend. There is a reason why it is expensive.

Among today's dashcams, which ones can I stick to my car's rain sensor housing?

I can't use a bike mount (like in my other car) because the rearview mirror stalk is too short. I also don't want to use a suction cup on my windshield. I tried different adhesives but none of them stick on the rain sensor housing because it's not a smooth surface - even my 3M automotive adhesive tape doesn't work (though it works very well for my shark fin antenna on my roof).

What are my options? I'm looking for a discrete dashcam (Transcend is a definite no-no). It should also have better nighttime video quality than the SJ4000.

I'm looking at the Mini 0805 but I don't know if the adhesive will stick. Though since it's small, I don't mind sticking it on the windshield directly. It's currently out of stock in Lazada. Are there other places where I can buy it, and how much?

The Mini 0806 seems to have better low light capabilities, but is it available here?

Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks! [emoji5]

I use Thinkware for my car. Its mounted via 3m adhesive. Mine is F550 model though

I'm looking for adhesive-mounted dashcams that are the same size as the SJ4000 or smaller.

Looks great but it's way out of my budget. Trying to stay under 7k.

Between the Qube Xcam A7 and Mini 0805, which is a better buy?

I'm having difficulty sourcing a Mini 0805. Looking to buy by this week. All the Mini 0805s in Lazada will take at least 3 weeks for delivery.

Read somewhere na they both use the same hardware. I bought the A7 and no problems with it so far, I am using its own cigarette socket power supply; camera socket is mini-USB. I used the suction mount on the rearview mirror, ayaw ko kasi nang may nakadikit sa windshield. I can still use the mirror, at the same time mas madali mag baklas-kabit when parking.

May unboxing ako several pages back

Just a thought, maybe I can use the SJ5000+ as well, using the supplied helmet mount.

So basically - Mini 0805 vs. Xcam A7 vs. SJ5000+

Which has the best nighttime video quality?

tried that approach with my sj4000. it won't last long. didikit siya tapos pag nabilad sa araw, unti-unting mag-sag until mahulog na. i even replaced the adhesive with 3m heavy duty mounting tape (yung black na ginagamit sa car accessories like rain gutter), di umubra. natatanggal din eventually. maybe it is because of the non-smooth surface of the rearview mirror.

does strapping the mount with the rain sensor housing with black zip-ties isn't feasible?

How did you mount your SJ4000 then?

I'm thinking if hindi kaya sa rain sensor, adhesive nalang sa windshield. More stable than the suction cup I think. Though I plan to put it on the dot matrix part para hindi visible.

Zip ties will not be stable and looks cheap. I want to keep it as clean as possible.

i gave up and used suction cup on the windshield. since naka-medium tints naman ako, hindi halata. hindi talaga pwede sa rear view mirror ng gen1 crv eh.

I'm not an expert on these matters but between Qube Xcam A7 and Mine 0805, i choose the latter. It fits all your requirements. I guess you'll just have to wait a little longer w/ Lazada
