I have two Garmin Dash Cam 20...

Video quality is good enough. Better at night compared to SJ4000. Viewing angle is just 90°.
Good GPS position recording. Good dynamic contrast.
One thing I like is good video compression.
32 GB microSD card (only 30fps). about 3 mins per file.
    384 mins 1080p
    17.6 hours 720p
    38.4 hours VGA

For its price, hindi sulit... Maraming mas mura na mas ok...

Finally got an Xcam A7 and had it installed on my car. Used the adhesive and stuck it on the part of the windshield in front of the rearview mirror for unobtrusive operation.

Video quality is definitely a step up from my SJ4000, especially at night. It's also more discrete than those Transcend dashcams that look like Gameboys stuck to the windshield. Mini 0805 would've been better, but I can't really complain about the A7.

4k sa Qube bro pero out of stock lahat ng branches right now. Nabili ko yung akin sa OLX for 3.7k kasama na yung anti-glare lens (na useless kasi madilim sa gabi).

Kaya ayoko ng DP220 kasi ang laki niya. Quality-wise the DP220 isn't better. Pareho lang. From the YouTube videos I've seen parang mas sharp pa nga A7 but it could be because YT reduces quality. DP220 just has the advantage of GPS logging and that fancy lane monitoring blah blah.

Congratulations bro. We have the same unit. In fact I have two (one each for the suv and sedan). I installed a kill switch to both, enabling me to switch it on manually after the car starts and off before turning the ignition off.

I prefer to have it turn on and off automatically. I have both my dashcams set to full automatic, so I can just forget that they're there and the only time I mind them is if I want to retrieve a video of my drive. [emoji4]

Only then you would think that I was right installing a kill switch when your a7 starts to hang-up and stalls.

Hasn't happened. When it does, I'll buy a dashcam that doesn't hang up and stall.

My SJ4000 is almost 2 years old and hasn't hung up and stalled on me. If the A7 is faulty, then I'll throw it away and get a dashcam that can do the job.

I don't want the hassle of turning my dash cam on and off every single time I drive.

Thanks for the heads up. Will monitor the A7 to see if it has any issues. Do you record with the LCD on or off? Heat could be the culprit for the random hangs.

*jut, not worried about damaging your tint anymore? Or mas okay ba somehow ang permanent adhesive kesa sa suction cup? Been wanting the Xiaoyi kasi pero suction mount lang available.

^Yes, but I'm worried about warping my windshield tint. If madamage ko kasi, mas mahal pa ireplace yung tint kesa sa total cost nung dashcam.

Curious lang, does the suction cup really damage or detach the tint? And I think using an adhesive is no different. Same lang silang nakaattach sa tint and pulling it outward with its weight.
I observed din na ang suction cup of the xiaoyi is not that concave. Meron lang syang lever which does the actual locking.

I record with the LCD to auto off in 3 mins. The blue led indicator light blinks that signifies it is continuously recording. I have no regrets on this cam considering its video quality day and night and its features. Tested na rin ito under the scorching sun's heat from open parkings. Thing is when you start your car, battey voltage surge is too high enough that the cam starts and automatically shuts off in an instant. Never did this recur when I installed a kill switch. No big deal. Just when the engine settles, I just flick the switch on and there it goes.
