got a self accident at podium carpark with our company car, sumabit yung right door sa may poste, may tama yung running board and rear right door. just want to ask kung ano ba needed na documents in claiming sa insurance, if ever sa casa sya ipapagawa or sa outside na accreditted shop. do we have to submitt an incident report? and may adjuster pa ba na magchecheck ng damage?

There are several classes of claims adjusters:

    • staff adjusters (employed by an insurance company or self-insured entity),
    • independent (independent contractors; not insurance company employees)
    • public adjusters (employed by the policyholder).
    • Claim Service Representatives (employed by the Insurance Company, or Independent Adjusting Company).

In the two first instances, and the fourth, the adjuster operates on behalf of the insurer.

Lahat tumatangap depende sa production ng Agent.

    Almost everything is insurable.

IMHO insurance should always be renewable. That is the regulation.

A portion of your claim is paid by your agent thru their bonus.
Pag malaki claim, walang bonus. This part of their contract protects
the insurer from fraud claims. Or to avoid paying out bonuses.

thanks sir mark_t. follow-up questions po:

    a. what is a "self-insured entity"?
    b. are staff adjusters the same as parang in-house adjusters?
    c. yung public adjusters for motor car, unfortunately wala ata dito sa bansa natin so far?
    d. what is the difference between an adjuster and a claim service rep? so they are either employed by the insurance co. or the independent adjusting co. why will independent adjusting cos. hire claim service reps?

    thanks po in advance

    a. when you do not insure then you are self insured,(ikaw bahala
    sa liabilities ninyo)
    b. I do not know about in house adjusters, in 5 years wala pa ako
na meet na ganyan. I will update you kung meron na akong na kilala
    na ganyan.
    c. Meron, they are contracted by the insured.
    d. you can ask for an ID or calling card and ask them kung bakit
sila representative and ano ang mapag lilingkod nila sa inyo.
If they are there to help then very good.
If they claim to be the vice president of the claim floor then very good din.
magka contra ang service advisor and claims adjuster, ang gusto ng service advisor by the book palakihin ang repair to meet the minimum safety standard,

But that is the way I see it.

    mong tawagan.

would like to bring up my case...
fyi, we have a brand new black Toyota Avanza na ginasgasan at binalasubas ng mga masasamang tao while I was parked at my Auntie's village.
long scratch sa may right side rear passenger door hanggang sa front passenger door. applied QD para hindi ma-obvious yung damages.
can I claim from the comprehensive insurance (c/o Standard) for these damages? since hindi naman po ito self accient at hindi ko rin nahabol yung mga culprit, pano po ang claims procedures for a newbie like me? planning to bring this to Toyota-Bicutan for repairs. gano po kaya katagal ang pagpapaayos nito? lastly ano pong ibig sabihin ng LOA related to insurance?

    1. Yes, you can claim for the damages from your insurance. Just file a police report that your unit was maliciously damaged whilest parked unattended. I'm not sure with Standard's procedure though.

    2. repair time depends on the shop. Pag maraming nakapila e posible mas matagal bago matatapos yun. Depende din yan sa LOA (Letter of Authority). Usually LOA will be released by the insurance one day after inspection or up to 3 days or sometimes even 5 days, depending on the damages. Anything more than a week ay may problema na yung insurance company. In your case, maliit lang ang damage and no parts involved, most likely 1-3 days lang yun.

    3. LOA stands for letter authority. This is like a Purchase Order. The insurance will guarantee payment and or replacement of parts to the repair shop the agreed conditions indicated on the LOA. Anything done by the shop or the insured na taliwas sa LOA ay hindi pananagutan ng insurance company.

by the way, check mo na rin how much yung deductible (participation) mo. Baka mas malaki pa yun kesa yung repair cost niya.

    Hope it helps!
