    good facts bro

stick with facts... your fear of e10 is completely unnecessary.

gasoline-ethanol can lower the km/li numbers... by about 3% on the average daw.
ethanol in gasoline actually has anti-knock properties.

actually, if memory serves, alcohol in fuel today, increases the pump price.

    The True Big Pic...
US politics, lobbying, corn growers created e10, now Trump gifts em w/ e15.
Ethanol, which has less energy than the more efficient higher octane premium petrol, is unsuitable for old cars....that's why some enthusiast up there produced Blaze. [emoji13] Plus, ethanol is hygroscopic. Bad for our fuel pumps. I had 1st hand e10 trauma..Had to replace/modify a brittled fuel line, then a pump assembly a coupla years after that initial surgery on our 17yr old ex-daily....

If I may ask, on what year does "unsuitable for old cars" start?

but how does this affect us?

in the early years of local ethanol mix,
we left the car in the garage, for several weeks (months?).
when we finally went back to it, we couldn't start it.
upon major inspection, we determined that the engine was suffering from fuel starvation.
the fuel tank contents had turned to something that looked like... nata de coco!

PH is supporting US Corn. The ethanol law is making us import ethanol. We are the 4th largest market for US ethanol. Woooohoooo![emoji13]

sometimes. i question the logic behind the law...
why continue enforcing the ethanol content law, when we can not address the requirements locally?
why are we forcing ourselves to import materiel? why not simply shelf the ethanol content law?

The power of lobbying? The greed of those in office? The ignorance of our electorate? I dunno.
What I do know is....I don't want ethanol in our cars.

when the ethanol content law came to force,
i did not connect the dots at first.
but i was wondering, why my car did not give me the usual km/liter anymore..
    hinahanapan ko ng prublema...

So newer cars aren't affected. If I may draw my conclusion, you shouldn't use ethanol blend if you seldom use the car. Does Shell offers ethanol free fuel?

    define "seldom use".
we leave our 2003 altis un-run for 2-3 weeks at a time.
we use the cheapest unleaded we can find. usually, ptt, because it is in the neighborhood.
    no issues.

Newer cars are just built more tolerant. Would you want water buildup in your tank? Blaze was eFree, brother Bossing. I hope it remains to be. Below was how Petron got around way back....

Sobrang tinitipid na nga ng mga resto ang corn on the cob sa mga steak restos eh , minsan kasing nipis na lang ng lalagyan ng pomada ang cut lol

Pero heads up to all of you in 2011 to 2013, we used E85 on our Ford Explorer Flex Fuel.

Come 2016 ng fuel line problems even 2 sensors gave up

Ethanol us very dangerous to fuel lines especially yun may mga rubber fittings or whatever, it can burn it

Thats why I avoided gasoline cars na coz force mandated ng US yan E10 na bilhen ng mga countries all over the world

The problem is hinde na malaman kung E10 o e15 or E20 na ang mix na pinapakalat sa mgs fuel companies ngaun

As a result grabe ang drop ng FC ng mga gasoline cars ngsun, with 5km / liter becoming as a norm sa bumper traffic sa metro

O ano trav, sabi ko sayo eh go diesel na. Alam ko talaga na walang kwenta ang gsoline, ginagawang milking cow ng mga Amerikano yan kasi they produce a lot of corn. Thats basically their staple agri, as Asia is to rice

Kaya nga sikat yun lagi yun mga horror movies na sa corn fields ang gawa kasi andami movie settings na corn sa Amerika

...must be their way of keeping prices down, even as cost of materials rise.

Most modern cars are designed to handle E10 without any major issues, especially newer engines. I’ve used E10 in different vehicles and never noticed problems, though fuel economy can sometimes drop slightly because ethanol has less energy than pure gasoline.

The bigger concern is usually with older cars, carbureted engines, or vehicles with old rubber fuel lines that were not designed for ethanol blends. If your car manual says E10 is fine, I wouldn’t worry too much. Regular maintenance matters more than the fuel debate in most cases.
