what most of us really hate about the 10% ethanol on our fuel pumps now are:
it is not a "universal" fuel. good for efi engines but why not on carburetor engines which is still exist on our world of transportation? it aint that reliable and engine safe. compatibility is still an issue. maybe in summary, it maybe/tends to shorten the life of our beloved vehicle, our hard earned auto.
it aint that economical as promise. Philippines still imports ethanol from other countries because we cannot sustain our own supply. make "sisi" the government. and it aint that cheap compared to non-e10s. if ever it will at the same price range as auto-LPG, just maybe it would be successful in lowering the cost of fuels.
it aint been justify here in the Philippines. No serious test has been done before pushing it in the law and in the market. It does not mean that it work on other oil hungry countries that it should work on us too. wala pang bonding and e10 at ang mga pinoy vehicles, di pa sila close. napagtripan lang ata nung mayaman matsing na nagpush nitong biofuels(e10 and bio-d) sa republika ng Pinas. campaign slogan? pampapogi? may nasabi lang may nagawa?
Please do correct me if may nasabi akong mali mga boss... this is my point of view.thanks

If im not mistaken, a blend of up to 10% is tolerable. But lampas dito Kelangang upgrade the lines to metal/braided ones to avoid corrosion.

There are unconfirmed reports from another forum that XCS might contain 5% ethanol. I guessing that for fuels that contain less than 10% ethanol, gas stations may not be required to display that yellow sticker saying that fuel has a 10% ethanol blend. So in the end, we would never know for sure if those allegedly pure petrol like XCS are still not blended with ethanol.

Petron
-released memo against E10 because of potential engine damage especially on older cars
-selling E10 and non-E10 gasolines
Shell
-says E10 is fine
-selling E10 gasolines only
From how I see it, Shell has a problem if the public believes regarding the E10 problem with engines. Less customers would gas up at Shell stations since all they have at the pumps are E10 mixed gasolines.Last edited by ghosthunter; September 14th, 2009 at 10:03 AM.

so sir GH,
petron is selling
xtra unleaded as e10
xcs and balze as pure?
plan on switching to xcs kasi my vitara has less milage per liter on e10 and the engine response is slower, pansin lalo na when overtaking and on inclines
hirap kasi paniwalaan mga gasboy, paiba iba ang sagot sa bawat gas station.
Imo at that price it becomes a very tempting buy even with its' flaws.
