December 14th, 2018 11:10 PM #442Binigyan ako ng VIP card ng Caltex dito sa amin 2/liter ang discount kaya madalas caltex ako..pero dati pa ok sa Ertiga namin yung mga RON nila.
Question lang, mas ok ba pag newly opened yung station dahil mas malinis yung tangke nila? Aside sa Caltex, me Shell at Petron din na recent lang nag operate.

the gasoline and diesel that comes out of refineries are more or less the same (base gasoline and base diesel)
additives are then added later on at the distribution level (called the"terminal rack")
you can see tanker trucks from different companies at the terminal rack... meron branded na tanker, meron generic na tanker
point is, gas stations with different brands may be getting their fuel from the same refinery
--
for petroleum product importers like Seaoil, Phoenix, Unioil, Eastern Petroleum, Flying V etc they may or may not know from which refinery the products are produced
coz they may not be buying directly from foreign refiners but from trading houses (based in Singapore)
trading houses are positioned between refiners and importers
They buy products from refiners (trading houses own vessels and storage facilities) and sell the products to our importersLast edited by uls; December 15th, 2018 at 03:21 PM.

for imported fuel, i'm not sure at what stage in the distribution process where additives are added
twice i've seen a gas station employee climb up to a tanker truck and pour something into the tank
it could be that additives are added at that late stage

Seems like it's normal. You can use that period to reset the service interval warning light. ...
