I had my Honda Accord 2006 2.4L done here in Econogas - Cebu. So far so good. I feels and runs the same as gasoline. Fuel consumption is almost the same with gasoline. Econogas also gives very good aftermarket service. I'm so glad to have my car enhanced with a Voltron SGI System from Econogas. Thanks to Ruben, their technical chief.

[SIZE=5][SIZE=3]Experienced low fuel consumption, rough idling, lack of power at low rpm?

One Saturday morning, I opened the hood to look for the source of the lpg smell that settled in my garage. I leaked test all of the joints but found none. And so I repeated it, but with the engine running. Wala pa rin ako leak na nakita. But what I noticed was a very noticeable "hissing" sound coming from where the lpg mixer and intake manifold meet (I use an EROOM kit on my Ford 1.6 Lynx). I have suspected this before as early as when I was watching the kit being installed. This was a very likely source of air leaks because metal meets metal without an effective sealant or gasket. What they usually use for this purpose is the silicone sealant usually used for glass, tiles, and roof leaks. I doubt whether this is impervious to lpg.


And so I disassembled the joint, scraped the silicon sealant, cleaned both ends, AND

applied THREE BOND sealant/ gasket maker on both ends. Malabnaw ang Three Bond so you have to apply it sparingly, then wait around an hour for it to become putty-like before assembling the components. I made sure the joint is tight and centered, and that the locking bolts are equally tightened.

END RESULT: idling is smoother (of course the tach needle still wanders a bit, but not like before), there's low-end power (I can run at 2000rpm or below in 2nd gear w/o the engine stuttering), my FC is now at 9 kms/ltr city, up to 15 kms/ltr highway (took a trip to Lipa via Star Toll driving leisurely at 90-100kph).

THREE BOND sealant is tested to resist LPG. I bought it at just P65 from my suki auto supply (smallest tube).

The tank meter and the dashboard light will always be different. The tank contains about 20-40% air. It always does. This air reflects in the tank reading but not in the dashboard light. So even when we fill out tank to capacity (till there is No Flow sa pump), the tank reading will only read 60-80% full, but the dashboard light will already indicate full.

Ilang beses na nagrollback ang Gas and its now 46 pesos/Liter nalang.

LPG sa Total Alabang 31.68 pa rin ganun na siya for more than a month or two.


I had my Mazda 3 converted at GreenFuel last August 2008.
Eversince then I had no problems with Normal Driving laging Idling problem lang.
I brought it back to them 2 times na kasi the engine dies when idling.
Usually in traffic. Siguro in a day mga average ko 3 times namamatayan.
GreenFuel naman is accomodating to fix the problem. I'll bring it back again probably tomorrow.

My observation. After driving about 20 to 30mins when the engine has reached its normal temp. Ayan na most likely when I stop there's a chance it'll die. It doesn't die immediately as in RANDOM siya.
My car on LPG always experience the coughing syndrom when idle. Na lessen yung coughing everytime i bring it back pero it still dies which is very irritating.

My FC...hmmm well city driving is at 8.5km/L in LPG its about 7.5 to 7.8km/L.

La lang just sharing.

naging problema ko rin ito for 2 weeks after i had my car converted to LPG, binalik ko sa greenfuel for check up and adjustments. itinaas lang ng konting konti yung idling ko, after this wala na akong naging problema. no more rough idling during stops.

about the lpg rollback, ito din ang tanong ko..bakit ni piso hinde bumababa.. hay

btw, my car is using emulator kit.

Got the same recurring problem before and became a constant GreenFuel customer for LPG calibration You are right that GreenFuel is very accommodating, Mike at one time even suggested to fix my ride in my Makati workplace.

I thought it was spark plug related, so I have tried of all sort and brands and now I have handful of them but I was wrong.

The culprit was LPG oil contamination, so I change filling station and chooses the very new Total LPG station in N. Fairview and all my previous problems are now eradicated. Engine runs smooth and no hesitation even on uphills.

Just to share...for those of you, like me, who chose to locate your LPG filler discreetly beside your fuel filler, you may want to check if water leaks into your trunk. The past weeks have been raining and I discovered water inside my trunk. After investigation, I discovered that rain water seeps into the trunk through the gap around the LPG filler. To remedy this, I placed silicone around the LPG filler to seal it. So far, so good.

You may want to check your trunks as well. Baka pagsimulaan pa ng kalawang...

I tried to attach a picture of my LPG filler with the silicone applied but it did not work the first time. So here it is again. Hope it works. You will see the silicone around the LPG filler to cover the gaps and prevent water from seeping into the trunk.

nag cut pa pala ng metal part for the lpg filler. yung sa akin sa ilalim ng bumper less worries for water going into the trunk ang problema lang hirap ng konti ang mga attendant dahil kailangan lumuhod to connect the pump nozzle. thanks for sharing sir.

I'm new here. I would like to ask your suggestion. I'm converting my 2008 NISSAN SENTRA GX to LPG.... been scouting for best deal from LPG installer here in our area (Tandang Sora/Mindanao Ave.). Already asked quotation for SGI system from Manila Autogas and ECONOGAS(cheaper by 5K). Can you help me make my decision.

its been a while since i posted. some updates/questions:

1. failed emission test but i was running on gas while ngpaemission ako. anyone experience the same?
2. hows the tune up interval for LPG SUVs?
3. i used to have the same problem with paolorenzo, (taas baba ang idling, ng-stall, etc.) after Green fuel tuned it, ok na. although my mga occasional instances na namamatayan/ng-jejerk/low RPM ako specially when i turn -off/on my aircon. anyone experience the same?
4. I only fill up sa petron, no oil contaminants ba ang petron?

thanks sa LPG, i was able to buy a scooter.. hehe.. sana bumaba naman ang LPG like gas.

its been a while since i posted. some updates/questions:

no fail on emissions, catalytic converter still functioning.

Typically just keep your old tune up schedule. If you have it done every 5,000km, keep it the same when using LPG.

My brothers had the same problem with their LPG-SGI cars. Return to greenfuel for tune up and problem solved. Either sparkplugs or oil contamination is usually the culprit.

4. I only fill up sa petron, no oil contaminants ba ang petron?

Depends, the Petrol Wack Wack, Shaw station is known for "dirty" LPG. Avoid like plague.

No significant power loss, idling quite stable although occasionally in traffic it fluctuates for a couple of seconds but quickly recovers (although namatayan na rin ako ng makina once in bumper-to-bumper traffic). I'm getting 5.9km per liter on LPG. I used to get around 6.5km per liter on gasoline.

That being said, if I bring my car to Speedlab, will I be happier? Will I accomplish anything significant? Also, will I need to bring my car back to Speedlab after my regular tune-up?

i had problems with petron araneta ave's lpg. lots of oil contamination. i'm filling up at manila auto gas on the opposite side of sanctuarium.

previously, i had rough idling. it would go up and down erratically. but now, after having it tuned up at green fuel, changed my filling station, it idles more smoothly. although i don't get any more discounts (3% from petron), at least the car runs smoothly now

Assuming your system is from Greenfuel, you can get more advanced diagnosics on your engine and LPG system. But since greenfuel has acquired a wideband oxygen sensor (similar to the one at speedlab), it's possible to get a good tune up at greenfuel.

But if you have some weird problem in which greenfuel cannot find the source of the problem, a visit to speedlab would be advised.

In the earlier months of greenfuel, visits to speedlab were suggested because of certain longer term effects of using SGI-LPG system were showing up. These days, most of the problems have been solved so there is less need for a visit to speedlab.
