2. If you convert to lpg, does it mean that you no longer have to replace your fuel filter since you hardly use any fuel?

While it is true that there will be less sediments on your fuel filter please note that gasoline also gets stale when stuck in your tank for a long period of time. Also note that the filter paper deteriorates faster when dry.

That is why in our SGI system we can program your vehicle to spew gasoline for a few seconds every 15 to 30 minutes while running on lpg. You wont even notice that your car is shifting from lpg to gas and back except that the led indicator flashes from green to orange and to green again.

We achieve a three things by incorporating this in our program.
a) prevents stuck up of your gasoline injectors when not used for a long time
b) cools down the engine
c) prevents gasoline from going stale in your tank.

2. How do they do it with SGI kits?

For the SGI kits, our ecu copies the ideal mixture that is set in your vehicle. Once your vehicle on lpg, the sgi ecu gives the signal to the injectors based on the setting that was copied. Thus eliminating "tantsa" system that is used in the emulator and carburetor systems.

Under-chassis tanks are mounted with long bolts to your chassis and as extra precaution we put additional bracket to hold the tank.

how about for those with variable valve timing engines? would they still be able to do the variable timing (and all the technological variations to optimize power and economy of the engine) even if the ecu is from that of the lpg kit?

no, there usually is a ECU just for the LPG system. The stock ECU is basically untouched. This is handy when you want to switch over to using gasoline only.

Since the stock ECU is still in place, the variable valve and/or variable ignition system will function normally. The only thing that will not function will be the stock fuel injectors since their functions were taken by the SGI-LPG injectors which are controlled by the ECU installed for that function.

sorry for the late reply. yes we do have our own ecu which copies the signals sent to your injectors. We can also tap this to the injectors or to the vehicles obd to get signals thus the system can work on vvti engines.

userfriendly, we do not usually take out the manifold we just drill small holes on it. But in rare occassions (chevrolet venture) we did open the manifold to be able to drill holes on it. We were careful enough not to rip the gasket when opening the manifold. However if gasket replacement is necessary we will inform the customer
