Which Van is the best to use as an AMBULANCE?

Medyo umandar nanaman yung curiosity ko, I saw different vans (toyota,foton,kia,Mitsu L300,Hyundai Starex,Nissan Urvan etc.) as an ambulance pero ano sa tingin ang pinakamagandang pick na VAN to use as an ambulance? So let's talk about this

HiAce GL Grandia or Super Grandia body.

Urvan is the most affordable and you can buy it without all the passenger seats. Plus its readily available in white.

Hiace cost much more. It comes with all those passenger seats that need to be discarded and you need to pay extra 15K to get it in white. The GL Grandia body is preferable bec. of its affordability vis a vis Super Grandia. Bet. it and the super grandia, it is more useful as an ambulance due to its one sided sliding door, resulting to more space inside.

I have seen a Super Grandia pearl white converted into ambulance. It belonged to an institution or the city of Cavite.

Alphard bago sa pandinig ko yun a? May nakasabay nga kami ng father ko sa SLEX along southwoods, Nissan Urvan na ambulance mukang may isusugod pa-calamba (naka-siren e) then sabi ng father ko "yan ang mali Urvan gagawin mong ambulansya e ang mabagal nyan" well, hindi suitable ang urvan as an ambu kasi kahit matulin and nakasiren inoovertake pa rin ng ibang vehicles esp. cars.

Di puwede ang Alphard dahil sobrang liit nyan tulad ng Hiace Commuter pag ginawang Ambulance..

Magandang gawing ambulance ang Hiace GL Grandia(yan ang kina OTEP),Urvan Estate at Grand Starex(not the TCI).Wag lang L300 na madaling kalawangin.

so you get the less expensive ones that might cost more to maintain in terms of cost per mile? not to get extravagant, the main objective here is to get the patient to urgent care promptly and comfortably since the patient might be in severe pain to begin with. wait 'til he/she dies and he/she rides in a cadillac hearse?

Yup, yun ang gamit ng PCSO. Makikita rin natin ang durability and reliability nito in the long term. Kung mabubuhay ito ng matagal. As for parts availability, I wouldn't be fretting about that since AFAIK it does not use any proprietary technology from Foton. Parts should be readily available in Banawe. I believe besides the cosmetic parts, all mechanical parts should be interchangeable with Toyota and Isuzu parts.

I'm not sure how you assume that the Urvan Escapade cost more to maintain? It is used by many in the transportation business much like the L300 Versa Van and as well as other business segments.

not to get extravagant, the main objective here is to get the patient to urgent care promptly and comfortably since the patient might be in severe pain to begin with.

Presently, the Philippines market does not have any ambulance that meet your criteria. Tried riding on a HiAce Super Grandia? Its not comfortable at all and it costs almost equivalent to two Urvan Escapades. Its engine is a 2.5 li that is also found in the Innova. If a fully loaded Innova feels lethargic, what's more a fully equipped ambulance?

just to clarify, the ambulance specs can be found in google: ambulance specifications and standards. at least use this as a general guideline. some accessory might not be practical nor necessary for the philippine road conditions and traffic flow, but just to give an idea
