dpo ba ang ranger has one or probably the highest payload capacity 1152kg or more than a ton.....

and tow close to 3 tonnes.... the ranger beats them all....

then you got the biggest bed space.... best flood fording depth...

hindi ba workhorse ang tawag dun?

Sa akin pickup lang yan. Utility, workhorse, kargahan ng tambak sa likod.

No replacement to cubes and that is applicable to non-CR and common-rail diesel engines, kahit gawin pang twin turbo, Lag..lag..lag.. kelangan paabutin sa 1k and up RPM to achieve the hP and torque..

No replacement for cubes naman talaga, so strada man or ranger better get the model with the bigger engine. Kasi yung 2.2/2.5 kung later on need mo more power baka kulang kahit i-mod pa. Pag 3.2, kung di pa din masaya sa 200hp e di chip up mo, 250 hp ka na 600Nm pa.

It's not always the engine size or the turbo. It's always the engineering. You cant just say a Porsche 911's engine is weaker than an LS3 V8 Corvette Z06 because the former only has a 3.5 boxer 6.

What's this obsession with power anyway? In the other threads, people keep on asking if a 1.0, 1.2, 1.3 or 1.5 liter engine has enough power, if it can climb uphill AND overtake. If you CAN afford it, buy the largest engine that you can and don't ask about fuel consumption. Otherwise, settle for what you can afford and be happy. Power is relative, even if you buy a 2.0 or 3.0 engine variant, you won't be able to overtake a convoy or Porsches or Ferraris.

On everyday drive on CITY it is important to feel the tourque at earliest/lowest rpm posible because you feel the pull/orgasm shortest period/lowest rpm as posible, that what is toyota is giving us, ORgASM ? what can you as for more... Sa dami ng usapan at diskosyon it boils down to RELIABILIT isipin mo babayadan mo sasakyan morth thousand monthly amort or cash worth million then bibigayan ka lang ng sakit ng ulo, its just me, you will just know it pag na experience mo na..

Pickup trucks are designed to haul and not for speed so you cant compare a sportscar engine with a truck engine. They may do turbo to compensate the power to weight ratio but the most important factor for trucks is the low-end grunt.

What is happening now are, trucks getting less cubes and concentrate more on forced induction. Tendency when laden these engines gets overworked esp during launching. You need to spin it faster to get the desired HP/torque figures.

The explanation needs no complex and hi tech engineering. Its simply higher displacement will always have better low-end power, while those tiny turbocharged engines coupled with any variable vane technology will always struggle more to get the desired power..

More and more people seem to believe that they can have power, economy, and low price, all at once.

But we are not talking about sedans here or top speed or 0-100 kph times. We are talking about pick up trucks. If it is just a lifestyle pick up, like what most ford ranger buyers here use their rangers for, then porma is everything. They are satisfied with 150 hp of the 2.2 models. But if the pick up will be used for what it is designed for then power is important. If you have 1 ton of fertilizer at the back and going up a hill on a dirt road then you do need power, torque and all 4 wheels biting.

What's the top speed of a porsche or ferrari going uphill on a muddy road with 10 sacks of rice tied to the roof? Yep, nobody knows because they're not made to do that!
