hehehe... They're not fanbois, they are owners who love the Strada. As a matter of fact some of them drives a Dmax, Everest, Civic and the other cars not belonging to the same brand.

Guys, let's stay ON topic and help the future buyers.

So why I choose over the Strada over the Navara? Simple... Because I can live with it! I spend most of my time inside and what the Strada has is a pretty much a good environment. It looks well-lighted even in low-light places unlike the Navara which has a very dark interior.

Happy and encouraging environment... Happy people. I don't see power as a tempting choice in the Navara because the competition such as the Dmax, Ranger, Hilux and Strada already have enough of them. Heck! even one carabao power can haul stuff already.

It's crazy to drive fast in a 'fair' safe car.

I wonder what happened to the thread starter? He has not posted again after 4 pages of exchanges of opinion.

Is he really bent on buying a pick-up? What will the truck mostly be for his use? His replies to these questions will help the tsikoteers give judicious advice.

I own a Strada and I test drove a Navara during the MIAS. Not to be biased because I'm an owner but I would like to point out why we really had a good choice on our Strada.

    1. Speed: Even though the Navara produces a grin making torque, if you compare the M/T versions of both the Strada and Navara, the Strada is still faster in the 0-100 kph category. When I was test driving the Navara, I asked the SA and the driver to count the seconds from 0-100 kph. Voila! 16.95 seconds! And that was with a hard foot.

    2. Interior: I'll compare this to musicians. The Navara is Earth, Wind, and Fire while the Strada is Ne-Yo or Chris Brown.

    3. Aircon: I can say is they are both cold and makes you feel you are in cryogenic state. Mitsu has already improved their aircon and it is already on par with Nissan's Calsonic.

    4. Ride: The Strada is, and will still be the most comfortable pick-up to ride in the market.

    5. Audio: I like the Strada's audio quality over the Navara's.

    6. Engines: Yes, i agree that the Navara has the most powerful engine both hp and torque, but the 4D56 is one of the most reliable diesel engines. I would prefer reliability over power. But watch out Navara, if Mitsu decides to put VGTs in the 4D56 and 4M41 CRDIs, they will have monster and reliable engines.

Sir ridihil....alam kong pareho sila ng engine block...kaya nga 4d56 di ba?....kaya nga ang sinabi ko earlier is, yung technology na dinagdag sa 4d56 ng Strada ngayon (which is the CRDI) e wala pa noon sa ibang model nila dati (which is the Advie with a 4d56 engine) ba binanggit nung nagsabi na pareho daw yung engine ng bagong Strada at ng lumang advie.

i know sir moxxxs. ang sinabi ko po sa first line ko was... "actually sir, they share the same block... 4d56 pa rin ang strada 2.5 pero may CRDI na." i didn't say na parehong-pareho sila ng engine... may difference po kasi ang "pareho" at "Parehong-pareho" im just trying to point out that mitsu's still using that block and haven't developed an all-new engine... baka kasi yun yung ibig sabihin ni kath1595... i didn't say that the engine sucks... in fact sabi nga sa earlier posts, 4d56's are reliable engines and for that, +1 sila dun... at least, you have the best of both worlds... CRDi tech in a reliable engine...

If I may add. The new 4d56 engine not only has crdi, but also has double overhead cam and 16 valves, while the old engine is sohc and with 8 valves. But still it's a 4d56 by heart, which is actually good. I know a lot of old 4d56 still running at 200k-250k kms odo reading.

Ah, that's exactly my ride. Never regretted getting it.

If I may ask, why did you finally choose the strada?

If you finally get to buy it, join us in The Strada Club of the Philippines so we will learn more about the strada by sharing our experiences.

    Points well taken, sir boybakal.

The caradvice.com.au review for the 2008 Triton is fair. One should understand that there is no such thing as a perfect pick-up truck. One decides on what he chooses based on his/her needs. I find the triton/strada just for me. Value for money, among many other things.

I hope caradvice.com.au will come up likewise with a review of the 2008 Navara. I'm sure it will also have its good and bad points. No perfect truck, like I said.

This is my new experience riding to new 4x4 navara.. last day may 15 we go to lucban, quezon via pagsanjan, laguna for the fiesta , they called it pahiyas.. were only 3 in the pick-up. i"m suppose to bring also my strada but i decide not to bring so i can feel and try the riding comfort of the new navara..

here is some comment on the new navara..

    1. Speed= No one can question the power of this 2.5l animal engine pick-up "superb".
    2. handling = i drove this vehicle from manila to pagsanjan only.. car like handling

    3. Suspension = Not so good as strada a little bumpy on highway and some uneven road. specially on the killer zigzag from pagsanjan to luisiana, laguna.

my only complaint on this vehicle is when i sit at the back seat.. it was so crumpy with my size.. I'm only 5'8". Im no against to navara owner. but the new strada is more comfort to ride even on the long drive.. i already did and tried to sit at the back for 6 hour dirve.. manila to legaspi.

To all owner of the new navara. why not try to sit at the back seat for a 3 hour long drive and you will answer what i feel.

this is only my personal assestment..
