Kasi, kung kaya naman, montero na lang, just add a few then yun. + 2 seats.

    suzuki jimny? Defender!

I've seen most of the new pickups (strada, ranger, navara, hilux, dmax) swim in stock form though

kung hindi ka naman mag offroad, yung mga 4x2 pickups with 4x4 height (eg. strada, trekker, dmax, etc.). pero best bet pa rin talaga mga old school diesel like sabi nila. unfortunately, isuzu crosswind at nissan frontier bravado na lang ata meron nito (not counting the chinese brands) and have the right ride height.

chery is the best car driving thru floods! so light, it will float right by!

if you don't like chinese cars, then any pickup, or large suv will do the job.

I've seen this pic several times in another thread and was made fun of.

I think this is the same kickass Fort that won in the '07 Manila Auto Salon

    Look at the mags....

Sorry for the OT. Just can't help it. I think the owner gave the right treatment worthy of a 4x4.

Ganyan po talaga design ng mga bullbar na pang off-road. ARB bullbars are usually designed that way.

of course, it's the one with the diesel engine! everyone knows diesel engines will keep on running even if submerged in water, as long as there's air and fuel going into it.
    seriously!

Actually, yang bullbar ang ginagaya ng ibang AUV.

To the TS, sa mga choices niya, yung Strada would have the best ability due to the height of the vehicle as well as the location of the air intake which is at the hood level.

As to diesel engines being sturdy in water crossing, maybe it's true for the old ones, but for the modern CRDIs, it would also depend on the location of the ECU.

di ko naman sya ipang offroad talaga. but I live in Mandaluyong sa may Boni circle and yng area around is terrible. konting buhos di ka na makauwi.
I don't think it's as bad as Malabon though. And kinakaya naman sya usually ng matatapang na jeepney drivers.

I've driven our honda city across there when it wasn't that high and parang tatangayin ako ng alon. hehe. And it's terrible when some people think about stopping when they're in the middle going thru and you're stuck there with them.

In any case, get a proper ladder-on-frame vehicle, not a crossover. Medyo may trade off lang talaga sa comfort for durability and clearance.

Whenever I see a ford escape, from behind parang kita ko na yng under chassis nya. It looks high. Knee high floor lang naman ang worst case na dadaanan ko, not headlight level water ng mga offroaders crossing a stream.
I still think it's best not to cross pag sobrang lalim na. Would not really risk getting stuck pag tumirik. I just want to be able to be able to cross with more confidence.

The Escape is tall, but the air intake is very low.

To increase stability and lower the center of gravity, the Escape's engine sits so low in the engine bay you can stuff a sack of rice on top of it and still close the lid. That would have been okay, except they made the air intake low, too.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    Yup.

The most important thing in surviving a flood is to know the fording capabilities of your vehicle, to better know when it is safe or unsafe to proceed.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
