Were lucky pala, kasi we have 2 Honda Crv (2005) and Honda City 2006 na 8 months so far wala naman mechanical or asthectics issue.

2 Honda CRV gamit araw, minsan palitan out of town going to bicol twice a month .

Before kami bumili ng City ang nasa list namin Getz, picanto, jazz, city at vios pero we end up with City kasi may malaking kaming discount na nakuha, at ang hinahanap ni misis sa kotse yung power sidemiror ang meronlang sa list namin jazz at city (1.3 class) at yung dahilan din ni misis mag gusto nya yung interior ng city at malaki yung trunk space.

BTW. Sariling experience lang po namin sa mga sasakyan namin.

If design, Vios. I don't like the design of the new City. Pero if Jazz yan, ganda. Pero, Vios pa din ako. Sabi nga nila mas mura parts nang toyota.

    Masikip lang ung Vios.

Mas matangkad lang ang Vios, at malaki ang mga Toyota emblem nito kaya nagmumukhang maliit. Peace po.

Is that measured at the side mirrors?

I was talking about the interior dimensions. AE101 is wider inside. I took a tape measure and measured them

    IMHO:

If you think that the City's look is 'cool',- then go for it!

If not, then you can Jazz.

    did the rounds... and yes...

CITY's interior is really more roomy than that of the VIOS....

the 1.3 definitely a wee bit underpowered...but hey... for city driving and skirting in and out of traffic...this should do....

am a bit cautious about the electronic steering though....too light for me....but the sales rep says that this tightens up at high speeds....is this true?

Yes. The EPS is designed to work that way, otherwise it would feel too light and unnatural.

You can check on the these sites for the design principle of the EPS:

    http://www.hondanews.com/CatID1001?m...58610&mime=asc

    www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Technical/eps.htm

More and more Honda's now are using EPS.

my brother has an 8-month-old vios 1.3 E (facelifted). at 5000km, the TVSS (Toyota Vehicle Security System) is already broken. both remotes would not work.

when my brother got back to the parking, he used the key, which triggered the alarm. he did the "10 times on-acc-on-acc" trick (in the owner's manual) since the tvss had no button to stop the alarm sound. the vios' tvss does not have a valet feature for it to act disabled.

sabi ng taga-TOYOTA PASONG TAMO nung sabado, "titingnan ang battery". anu ba yan, both remotes nga e at umiilaw naman 'yung fob kapag pinipindot. whole day iniwan hindi pa inayos! eh di sana sa bicutan na lang kami!

    just sharing. peace.

I have a 2006 1.5G vios mag 4 months na so far la naman akong problema. sa interior space ok lang kasi my wife and my son lang lagi ang pasahero. maganda ang acceleration at response ng makina ang drawback lang ay ang shifting it to reverse mahirap e-pasok minsan ok minsan mahirap... I ask fellow owners same problem with me... maybe I'll just live with it. cant comment bout city dahil wala po akong Honda car.

I notice more new (defined as no plate number issued yet) Vios esp. the J variant than the City (even compared to the City A variant).

I just noticed now that Toyota does not sell Vios in white color, so where did the taxi operators get white Vios? I suspect they are the earlier batches where white was still available but the color was subsequently dropped off when they did a facelift a few months ago.

I'm basically a Honda City "city" driver and I liked the steering, spacious cabin, decent a/c, fuel economy (Subic to Legazpi = P1,000 worth of Unleaded) which I think is cheap and please don't let me do the math, and flexible compartments. Oh, the engine room is also quite spacious and well placed.

I think it looks nice as well. Well it's cheap car and it runs well... serves my purpose.

    hey ericsond,
nice to hear that you are a very happy 2006 Honda CITY owner...but aren't you bothered that the current model line up has taken out the AIRBAG options?

It is due to this fact that I'm now considering getting a 2nd had 2005 HONDA CITY....kasi at least in that year line up...the 1.3 city had air bags as standard equipment

so bottom line is....new look ...new grill and tail lights....as opposed to SAFETY...airbags

but ya...true...with the 1.3 CVT...you wouldn't dream flooring it and travelling beyond 120 in the city....( no pun intended...hehehe)

hopefully if you do get into accidents it would be the SLOW minor dent types....scooting in and out of parking lots or SIDE streets.... and on EDSA ....how often can you reach 80 in EDSA...tsk tsk......

inggat na lang tayo mga Tsikoteers.....

Well, we've discussed this elsewhere, that the airbags are merely supplementary, and the most important thing to consider is the overall crash safety of the car. This includes crumple zones and the like, and AFAIK, the new City has a longer nose (but only slightly).

But shame on Honda for not even offering the option to put them on that variant.

    niky,
that a good insight...can you please direct me to the discussion that you mentioned (on car safety).....really am interested....

SUPPLEMENTARY air bags? hmmmm...could be the deal breaker for me....

    thanks
