At this point, all prices are just speculative, since the Fortuner is yet to be launched. If it comes out the that it is only P1.5M, then the P1.9M estimate would have prepared you and given you P0.4M extra cash.
Good strategy sir.. hehehe. May teaser ad na in Today's issue of Manila bulletin.

    Hi peeps,
Benny here. Pwede pong sumali? My vote is on the Fortuner. But because of its popularity, baka takaw nakaw ito, so I'm thinking twice on getting it and having my kids ride it to school.

Chismis lang from a Toyota insider: Grand launch is May 9, 2005.
4x2 gas version will cost P1.250. 4x4 diesel version will cost P1.450.
    Sana po, totoo...

    Welcome Benny!

Information is always welcome! But, I dunno if the Fortuner will come out with a 4x2 model here in the Philippines. It never came out with a 4x2 when it was launched in Thailand last year.

I expect na walang ABS at passenger side airbag ang Fortuner tulad nang ginawa nila sa Hi-Lux.While yung Altera SRV ay complete tulad ng D-Max.I expect mas mura at complete ang Altera SRV(leaf springs ng alng tulad ng Everest)

Likely 4x4. They market the Innova to be the small suv in Thailand >>> that serves to be their 4x2.

The MU-7 would come out with rear leaf springs >>> but surely you'd get surprised 'coz the ride isn't like what we got used to when it's a leaf during the 80 and 90s.

Mura? Could be... but if you're to check out the pricing of MU-7 and Fortuner in Thailand, mas mahal pa ang MU-7. Iba pa rin ang confidence level ng ISUZU when diesel engines ang pag-uusapan. Puting more "premium"... mainly anchored on its diesel engines.

Yup... iba pa rin ang Isuzu when it comes to diesel... hindi lang passenger vehicles kundi mga commercial vehicles & industrial engines!!!

I got same info on the model and price.
Grand launch by invitation is tonight. Individual dealers are inviting customers for a preview on Friday, May 13. Available colors are beige, black, night mist and silver. The usual floor mat, 3M tint and seat covers are thrown in. All units are automatic.

With a difference of P305,000, the question of getting gas instead of diesel becomes more relevant. I wonder if the computations from previous messages are close to accurate. I don't have info on mileage of either verrsion. I wonder how much mileage it will take to offset this price difference. Better resale of diesels also need to be factored in..

The 3.0 li D4D has full-time torque-sensing (torsen) 4WD vs 4x2 for the 2.7 li variant. The diesel will outrun the vvti by 1-1.5 secs in the 0-100 km/hr speed run and the fuel economy of the diesel can even exceed 14 km/li based on their internal docs and comparison with the competition. Ask your friendly sales rep for a peek into their docs. Maybe, this may explain the P300,000 difference.

Their marketing docs don't indicate any fuel economy figures on the 2.7 L VVti

The ISUZU MU-7 will be released sooner than the initially blurrbed 3rd quarter launch. It's to be named the "Altera". Isuzu Philippines has already released several teaser ads all-over Metro Manila showing the i-TEQ, 3rd Generation Commonrail Diesel Engine.

The Isuzu Altera launch may come late this Month. I'm sure several guys are holding-off getting the Toyota Fortuner 'coz they still wanna see how the Altera compares against it.
