Wow, ngayon ko lang nalaman itong i-stop tech, thus making me google deep cycle battery, cause I always thought they were just for solar power use.![]()
^^^ You might also be amazed with Variable Cylinder Management. Local Honda Accord V6 uses this technology and of course the high end German cars.
That one I know, I think it was introduced in the previous generation of Accord.![]()
But with the VCM tech, it is no longer a gas guzzler right? Unless the VCM is not working to address fuel consumption.![]()
Is fuel consumption really a concern for such engine displacements? For big V6 or V8 engines with displacements bigger than 3.0L, don't expect it to have the same fuel consumption as a small 4-cylinder (below 2.0L) engine.
Besides, for cars like the Accord V6 or Explorer or CX9 with a price tag of more than 2M, I guess people who buy them have the means to spend for gas.![]()

It does.
But VCM on the previous Accord only activated during light cruising... ergo... maintaining 60-80 km/h with a very light foot on the accelerator. Speed up a little bit, and VCM turns off. (on the new Accord, VCM stays on longer and under more conditions).
With two cylinders off, you still have 2.2 liters worth of engine running, pushing a 1.7 ton car.
With three cylinders off, you only have 1.8 liters worth of engine running, but it's still pushing a 1.7 ton car, as well as the other half of the engine that's not running.
In the end, the Accord was relatively economical for the power and size, but you would still be getting 3-4 km/l in traffic.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
the HR-V Mugen variant is awesome!
would go for it if I have the funds.![]()
HRV is a useless purchase coz when you're like 2 cars away, it will just be mistaken as a sedan. sobrang baba at mukang vios lang kung minsan. waste of money for this vehicle . mas muka pa SUV ang ecosport.
