The Montero is a very good choice. My daily city drive fairview to BGC considering heavy traffic 9km/L pa rin. Features sulit na sulit push button + electronic park brake + GPS guide safety + 4 eye back sensor + reverse cam + paddle shifter to name a few i like

Hi, I test drove the everest trend, features are nice but it felt "matagtag" maybe I am used to ride a sedan. I am now having second thoughts of getting a PPV. Haven't tried fortuner yet. But I don't want to have an uncomfortable ride everytime I drive. Is the ride of montero a lot better? Now I'm considering getting a CUV or a mid size sedan instead but would not be very practical.

A 7seat capacity vehicle will have a stiffer suspension versus a 5seat capacity vehicle. Because theyre diesels you can put sacks of rice to soften the ride 😁 without too much penalty on fuel consumption.

Not even the Montero has a ride quality that's at par with sedans. You have to prioritize what you want in a car - a crossover will be closer to a sedan's ride, while still offering the added space and ground clearance of a PPV. Only downside is that most are gas-fed except the Tucson and overpriced CX5 SkyActiv-D, and they naturally have poorer resale value vs. PPVs.

If I have the dough [wait, even if I have just enough money for the BRV- and I am sure I am buying],- I'd go with any of the Everest/Fortuner/Montero,- but NOT the BRV....

Come on,- this is a no brainer....

We have before the prev gen montero and it was ok, I'll try to book a test drive for montero. We are planning to buy because we need space and comfort. I'm checking out the PPVs since diesel and ground clearance would be a good bonus. In case we will also not like Montero's ride, maybe I'll check 2nd hand CUVs or midsize sedans. I really did not expect that the "tagtag" feeling will be that noticeable.

The new Xtrail is the only locally available CUV with collapsable 3rd row seats. It is one of the biggest among the CUVs and priced competitively. As expected, the third row seats are a bit cramped but the first and second row offer ample leg room.

Yup you have to ride the new Montero to see how soft it is. Its very different from previous gen. One thing you will notice is the softness is a bit bouncy but not too much and you will get used to it quickly. It is well balance on road conditions.
