hilux vs. strada vs. tucson?

hi autobroker, no i haven't considered the ranger yet.

with the options you have chosen feature-wise id go for the strada. but then again considering that my province is up north (isabela) most clients i had who had a dilemma between the strada and the hilux most chose the hilux ( probably name recall) and they are all satisfied with it ( probably due to hauling which is important for them) personally i prefer the strada but then again as a car broker i can only translate the needs of my clients to a good financing deal with the options based on their needs.

yes, GLX-V is 4 speed automatic. this is what i read on their 2011 brochure. i don't know about the 2012 though. still have to check.

Hindi ba kasama sa 2012 upgrade package ang Strada? Yung dagdag 5 speed transmission, cruise control, availability of manual with VGT engine, etc.?

I think sa GLS Sport-V lang yan.

I think the tucson would be better for you based on your requirements. The strada and the hilux are pickup trucks which in your case, you would not be needing the large cargo space. Besides, since you will be mostly driving in the city, you would end up storing your everyday stuff in the back seat of the pickup as it is not safe and secure (specially when it rains) to place them on the cargo bed leaving you smaller space for passengers. Just a practical opinion sir.

we have gen1 tucson and a new strada.
i prefer to drive the tucson around the metro, alone or with family. mas convenient kasi talaga
i bought the strada mainly for work use around the the metro and out of town.

hi guido and spotdog, yes... am also considering the tucson. i will do test drives when i need to really make a final decision already. maybe end of this year or early next year pa naman... am just researching ahead.

30T to 50T depending on model, there's Carryboy, Miggoyboy and Aeroklas.

Don't know what those cost, but by the looks of it they don't seem to be able to swallow much. You probably couldn't fit your family's week's worth of groceries in there. Just get the bed cover, it would be a good investment. It pays to keep your stuff safe. Or, you can get a campershell for even better practicality. Doesn't look very good though.

Wow~ You actually made your campershell-laden Strada look muscular! Most of those I see look pretty lame. How can it be this expensive though? Is it secure from break-in? Connected to the alarm system? Does it have a defogger? What is it made of? One thing I would really appreciate is a rear wiper/washer system for the campershell. As if the rear visibility isn't bad enough already with all those layers of glass and the rear so far apart.

I read the post here. Alot have been said. I'll go for the Strada. Looking at your requirements, its fits almost all.

I had a Strada GLX 2007 and it served me well. Although the turbo wasn't as great, it was still powerful, what more the new VGT. I don't have a Tucson, but I have a Sportage, almost the same as the Tucson.

Comparing how i fell towards both cars, ill go for Strada pa rin.

Maintenance is a bit high, but then its a diesel car. the expense is mostly the oil.

Looks are subjective. Resale value is good. You will always feel secure of the height of the Strada. Riding comfort, Strada is very car like. invest ka na lang or save some extra peso, get a lid, P35K is good enough lide (miggyboy). with that, you have a huge trunk. parking, no problem, with its smallest turning radius, it will be a breeze. practice parking backwards, easier to park that way.

Hilux is also good, but strada is more of bang for bucks.

Tucson is a winner, but too commmon now.
