I like using FIRST WORLD/THIRD WORLD and all those numerical words makes the discussion more colorful (and heated to some na mag papa-apekto), rather than saying developed country or developing country or OECD country. Very boring!

yep. the L200 Strada/Warrior is available in europe... kasama UK

    4 stars sya sa Euro-NCAP.

    Hilux nasa UK rin

AFAIK, ang only pickup-based na SUV na available sa UK e yung Pathfinder (na galing sa navara. hehe.)

*tidus1203: global cars are gaining more ground lately, but they still have many regional differences. Kung papasinin mo iba talaga yung standard kit sa Asia, Europe, at America

usually nasa atin yung pinaka panget at bare na variants. hehe.

yung Monty/Challenger is sold in Russia and Australia, btw

OT: ang Pilipinas ay hindi raw poor country... ano tayo... "Lower Middle Income" country. hehe.

AFAIK when you say american/european standard ang specs ng car is iba like sa aircon may heater and sometimes may headlight wiper kasi nag i-snow doon, and etc sa asia di kailangan yan. Pag naman asian standard tropicalized naman. So mas pipiliin ko na asian standard rather than european kasi nasa ASIA tayo.

Sa specs wala naman ako nababasa third world standard or first world or whatever, dito ko lang nabasa yan. IMO lang to ha di ako mahilig mag research eh.:peace:

Aaaaah... so global standard ok if you dont mind can give me specific literature or link regarding that I'm about to purchase a car now so that ill take this into consideration. Kasi sakin basta meron dual airbags, side beam, ABS, EBD, ok na sakin, ngayon nga lang nauuso sa pinas yan dati makikita mo lang yan sa mga luxury car like bmw, mercedes, etc.

sir, kayo nalang bahala mag sabi kung ano ba talaga mas malakas between the two.
    sorry mod OT.
sir, this is just my personal observation/opinion when comparing German and Japanese Technology, not only with car's engine but also with Industrial machinery design: Germans usually maximize the power output of their machine design, they even come to a point wherein they use the service factor of the machines to extend its power to the limit. On the other hand, Japanese are too conservative and usually under rated its machine power design. The result, japan made machines usually last longer in terms of years in service, this maybe the reason why L300 of the 80's still exist today. I have been working to an Industrial Plant environment and both German and Japanese Technology are present, and this are just my personal observations for the longest time I am working with them. In fairness to Sta Fe, the car exists for almost over four years now and most car Owners are still satisfied with its overall performance however only time can judge its durability.

So for me, for the meantime until Hyundai is still building it's car durability and prestige, I will still stick between Fortuner and Montero. Just my opinion. Peace.

Funny how everyone is arguing and concerned about power figures when just a few years ago the Pajero was powered by a 2.5L with less than 100hp and still got just about anywhere.

Heck, our 1986 Pajero boxtype with an NA 4d56 got up to Baguio and was driven through rutted mining roads of Benguet three to four times a year without fail.

At the end of the day, its still the driver and what his preferences are. The pros and cons are listed, go out and take a test drive and choose what you want more.

As for me, to respond to the question, i prefer the Toyota due to my past experiences of owning both Mitsu and Toyota vehicles. If power is wanting on the Fort 2.5 then there are options to increase it if youre willing to take the plunge (i.e. Unichip, intake work, intercooler + added boost, etc).

    1. Power- sa spec sheet lang yan on what to possibly expect. Pagdating sa highway lalo na sa provincial road nasa driver skills nayan. Only when both drivers are of the same skill where the engine power will make a sifference.

    2. First world safety standard - pag oras mona, oras mona kahit universal safety standard payan.

But it's pretty obvious na malayo ang power ng Fortuner 2.5 G D-4D sa Montero Sport 2.5 GLS.

Lalo na pag lumabas yung 2.5 VGT na Montero. Malamang ang bilis nung 4X2 kasi magaan lang.
