Now that I've seen the potential of the Subaru engine, Im all the more worried that if I purchase the Forester 2.0, I may not be able to take advantage of the performance tools offered by Cobb or other mod suppliers. I'll be using the vehicle for mostly city driving (95%) but am open to the option of bumping up the HP for more spirited driving. You see, the catalogue doesn't seem to mention the base 2.0 model, only the 2.5XT.

I'd appreciate your thoughts on this. Everyone is welcome to share what they know about this as well. I'll be making a purchase decision come July. Thanks in advance.

I'll be keeping a tab on this thread. Interesting stuff. :-)
Madaming mods dun sa link ni Hybrideevo para sa 2.0. In the end I just didn't choose that model because I'm VERY unused to slow - accelerating cars and I wouldn't have wanted to wait a couple of years to do the mods ('til mukhang wala ng warranty issues).

Not to mention ... kahit makapal ang alikabok, hindi halata sa gold. hahaha!

Maraming maraming salamat nsa lahat ng nag-greet!!

Sa wakas medyo excited na me. Nung una, excited me mag-research through car mags, then excited me mag-test drive. Pero nung parang walang perfect na perfect for me, medyo nawala ang excitement ko. Pero it's back (mostly). My first AT, 1st CUV, 1st AWD. I would've been happiest with a 2.0 or 2.5 NA MT but I guess you can't have them all.

I got the owner's manual ahead of time and I'm reading it in the bathroom. Daming bells and whistles, buttons, lights, and gauges, that's for sure. I wish it had a backup sensor though -- maybe instead of a seat heater?

Update ko yung forester thread sa performance at FC niya over time. Sana mag-post din dun yung may experience sa mods, especially sa 2.0 mods.

because of it's very reliable AWD system, subarus are very popular sa mga cold weather and snow covered spots in the world. i noticed that the higher the elevation, the more subarus i see on the road. the seat warmer and side mirror defogger are great features in such weather conditions. but i agree with you though, subaru should make adjustments according to the country. the philippines have no use for a seat warmers.
