ahh so its still performance (civic) vs comfort (altis)... kala ko with the dual vvti the altis can run with the civic na.
thanks
yun talaga! gulat ako dati how comfortable ride ng altis. when i got to borrow it from my sister, parang ayaw ko na balik... i wanted an altis na rin. haha
Since minsan mapupuno ang kotse, I'd suggest something roomy enough for five full sized adults AND their stuff and with the power to haul everything. The Accent 1.6GLS Blue is said to have excellent performance (and also a great sounding exhaust note) and handling and also great fuel efficiency due to the Blue technology. Or, I'd suggest you go second hand, and get a Carens CRDi for lots of space, 2.0L power and 1.6L fuel efficiency.
for comfort and efficiency, I like to suggest Ford Focus TDCi 2.0 and Toyota Corolla 1.6 (the one with a manual tranny) it is really a fuel economizer (don't know something 'bout the automatic variant of the altis if it is also a fuel efficient one) another is hyundai accent CRDI and toyota vios 1.5 G.

Yep. If driving comfort is what we're after, you wouldn't find any in the Civic FD. Kasi puro siya adrenaline rush.Stiffer suspension, greater handling etc. etc. Unlike the Altis diba ... softer suspension, softer seats etc. for comfort talaga.
*boxing summers : I`d strongly suggest to look at the Hyundai Accent Blue. Everything that you should look for to complete the elegance of the 1.4L is seen already on the said variant. Also, it's somewhat evident that the Accent Blue still wins the rarity segment, unlike the Altis or any Honda for that matter ... few days after it was released customers are raging on the footsteps of their dealers & ordering for one already.
Regarding practicality, I couldn't say so that it is bang-for-the-buck. Probably because of the additional perks, yes, but for the overall use ... my heart still beats for the Altis. Bigger. Bigger. Bigger. & parts are probably a bit cheaper too.
Looks they're partly the same. Though I didn't have a negative first impression on the Blue like how I did on the Altis ( ugh. the tail lights ) but both should turn heads ... for now.
Fuel efficiency, the Blue wins this one due to the power to weight ratio. The dual vvt-i technology bewildered most of us all & making us think that it makes MORE power than the Blue. But it's wrong, actually the Hyundai Accent Blue makes more power than the 1.6 Altis which cranks at 120HP * 6000rpm / 154Nm of torque * 5200rpm WHILE the Accent blue which is significantly smaller cranks at 122HP * 6300rpm and has 156Nm of torque * 4200rpm. And due to that numbers, the Accent provided a decent economy of 16.4km/L Highway driving at an average speed of 100kph & 12.7km/L City driving on light to moderate traffic conditions.
Regarding the Altis on the other hand, it can top up at 15.4km/L highway driving at a steady pace of 100kph & 10.5km/L on the city.
ay oo, sabi ko nga ang layo ng budget,...hehehhe!
aw!! I hope fiesta na lang pala sinuggest ko instead of focus, baka pumasa pa.. hihih!!!
may be, I just taken away by the word "EFFICIENCY" nakalimutan ko yung performance,..hehehee!!!thank's for remind'n.
renzo, im just curious, are the figures that your giving are actual or based on manufacturers claims/release?
Those are actual figures. I don't give figures that are claimed by manufacturers, I expect them to be biased so most of the time they are to be inaccurate. The two cars were tested by autoindustriya.com, and they are usually correct unless proven otherwise.
I'm hoping to test drive the Accent 1.6 Blue sometime soon... I wanna compare its power with my Corolla. Yung mga nakakasabay ko na Accent sa kalye ang bibilis e, tapos 1.4 pa siya.
