Saw a pic at Kotse.com showing a diesel variant of the Accent in hatchback form. Any insights about this?

It's coming in with a 125 hp 1.6 liter engine and a four-speed automatic. While normally a 4AT is a bad thing, the turbodiesel has enough power that it doesn't matter, and it still spins a lowly 2,500 rpm or less at 100 km/h.
Interior specs and toys are not finalized. From our brief drive at PCOTY, it feels softer than the Fiesta and Rio but firmer than the Accent Sedan. In other words, perfectly comfortable without being wobbly at high speeds.
Hopefully it will come in at under 900k. Awaiting word from HARI on final pricing, which they need to provide to be eligible for PCOTY.

Assuming we raise the budget to accommodate the new Accent CRDi Hatch, say around 900k, are there any better cars I should at least take a look at?

Jazz versus Fiesta... Depends on your needs. If you actually need the backseat, the Jazz is still the biggest lunchbox on the playground.
