May 18th, 2011 11:50 AM #42*bogart, sa anabu kostal ako malapit. Magkano nagagastos mo ha? 250 to 300 nga ba?
ANyway, thanks sa mga advice guys. Tama. bibili na lang ako ng brand new.
Nakaisip na nga ako ng bibilin eh. I'll save ng 350k, then ill buy Mitsubishi Strada. I think it's so great, it's big, and macho looking. I'll buy brand new, just 840k! Ok lang kahit wala munang stepboard or foglamp.
Wala naman na kaseng magandang SUV talaga na nasa 850k to 900k ang presyo eh. Gusto ko sana innova, kaso, i still prefer the strada kung papormahan ang usapan. Gusto ko sana asx, kaso mahal. Gusto ko sana hyundai tucson, kaso yung diesel version nya nasa 1.4 million. Gusto ko sana yung monterosport, kaso mahal. Gusto ko sana crv, kaso nasa 1million din.
I guess ill just get the STRADA. Diesel na, maporma pa, at mura pa!

*TS; better get the sedan na lang nga jsut so you are not financially stressed. Mabuti na yung may magandang ipon pa rin despite all the monthly expenses IMO. If ever tama ako ha.

nung kinuha ko xtrail ko, i was choosing a b-new Jazz GE 1.5V gray...pero 50% down, at 5-years (special rate ng bpi hehehe) 600T lang budget limit back then.. then pakot ikot ako, nakita ko tong xtrail...600t, 50T kms, kumpleto ang baby book. may unavoidable swirl marks at konting dent sa fender.... pero everythings solid....so kaya naka xtail ako ngayon...
2 years trouble free..but the fuel cost and nagkaka-edad na din... 7 years na....lumalabas na mga parts to be replaced...kaya dumadating sa point na sell ko kaya then kuha ng either sx4, grand livina, apv, avanza, or innova, para kahit paano 50% down na, low monthly pa...
pero other than that no comments ako at siyempre malaking plus factor pag nakita kang bumaba from an xtrail regadless na 2004 model pa ride ko...e ung mga iniisip ko, thrifty nga, thrifty din sa value performance at "x-factor"...kaya least ko kinoconsider changing my ride... not unless, if a i could squeeze in or magkaroon ng magandang deals for a FXT, captiva, sta.fe, or montero sport gtv...
pero eto reality nyan: finance ONLY brand-new vehicles.... bukod sa mas mura ang rate at deals, atleast may warranty ka.. and used vehicle ay 3-years lang 30-40% minimum down at mataas ang rate....not to mention all the unmentioned history or defects hiding...

i had the same dilemna last year. my options were:
1. get a cheap econo car na madaling ibenta until i have money to pay 50% for a Fortuner
2. get a fortuner with just 30% down, tapos bahala na si batman.
I chose the 2nd option. Anyway, my point is don't buy a brand new car that is not your first choice. you will always end up thinking about at your first choice when you see them on the road. maiinis ka lang lalo na pag all of a sudden nagkapera ka to get your first choice.

Look, I don't know what is it with the "dream car" and all but seriously, trying to buy something that's out of your reach and then getting it secondhand wouldn't probably satisfy your want. Go for practicality ALWAYS (aka a sedan, yeah). Last thing you want is creditors hounding you, trust me. Remember that the past US financial crisis revolved around the notion of people getting greedy due to extensive credit terms.
Personally, I'd say save up, use the magic called "compound interest", grow you money, go buy your dream car once you're financially healthy. Besides, "dreams" upgrade according to your wishes naman eh. Kung dream mo today is to have a SUV, once you attain it, your dream would probably be to "buy a Porsche" or something. We never outgrow that cycle, hence better to play it safe.Last edited by jhnkvn; May 18th, 2011 at 11:49 PM.

May 19th, 2011 12:04 AM #49Yan ang dahilan kaya gusto ko ng BIG CARS eh, kase astig ka pag baba mo ng car mo diba. Hehe. That's why I think I will buy a Mitsubishi Strada na lang , tutal mura lang sya, 840k lang. Eh kung di naman ako bibili non, or ng kahit anong SUV, i'll be stuck with a honda jazz or honda city which is at 730-750k. So almost 100k na lang may BIG CAR na ko, which is what i really want.
So ill delay yung pagiipon (i originally just have 250k for the sedan) ng mga a few months so that ill have 350k for my downpayment sa BRAND NEW Strada.

It is repairable. But as oj88 mentioned, it is messy (when repaired) and best used as a last resort.
