February 20th, 2012 06:05 AM #173oohh... un nga lang tlg, actually dami din ng comment/suggest sa apperance ng i-van.. not to demoralize centro or isuzu but 4 improvement.. pg nagawa na nila ung 1.)foldable lahat ng seats,(kahit gayahin nila ung configuration ng seats ng urban)-para maging at least minimum of 23 seat since longer nman sila,2.) higher body ground clearance 3.) sliding doors maybe people will consider buying this as express service.. a good competitor for urban and hi ace...
pero pre alam ko ssabihin ng mrami, mejo mahal nga sya kumpara sa toyota at nissan.. ganun tlaga kc nga nhr truck sya.. higher payload, extra reliability with extra efficiency.. kaya tama ka din.. ung iba cguro nhr truck base lng bibilhin, taz ung body eh mgppagawa sa labas..
i think aside from centro, almazora is a good maker too.. pwde nman sila mgpagawa both dun db? gaunun? so 2 years ago pa pinakita ang i-van?tingin ko pre my pgbabago mgyyari sa i-van... ..

Isuzu also sold Honda Civics badged as Isuzu Geminis. hehe.
P.S. lets give the i-Van its own thread at: http://tsikot.com/forums/isuzu-cars-...-report-86186/
If you guys want to quote a post from this thread regarding the i-Van, please copy post the post to be quoted in the i-van thread instead.
Happy Motoring!

I usually go for the ease of maintenance. It's easier to overcome an issue with the Nissan TD27 engine than it would be with the 2KD-FTV from the Hiace. Also it's less sensible to changes in the fuel's quality, leading to a lesser risk for failures...
Isuzu engines are well-known for their reliability, but this i-Van looks too badly-engineered (more worked-around than really engineered).
It's nothing that an aftermarket turbocharger (with the help of an intercooler) couldn't fix

February 20th, 2012 08:18 PM #176isuzu engines maybe the toughest and fuel efficient but between these two... i'll give the urvan 1point over hiace.... maybe because more uses urban over hi-ace in express services in malls... the weight of urban without passenger is 1600kg while hi-ace is heavier.. resulting another point for urban in terms of speed (faster than the heavy hi-ace).. but the aircon?oh my i'll give hi-ace the vote.. i dont know if its just the location of aircon vents.. but hi-ace is cooler than urban.. in comfort..ahmmm mas matagtag ang urban sa hi-ace..
btw, nasubukan nb sa urban ung 40% diesel tapos 60% water? nabasa ko sa forum ng mga hilander/crosswing kinaya dw ng makina

I wonder where you're getting your facts. Mas mabilis ang urvan over hiace? No. Mas mabilis po ang hiace than the urvan, even for the wide bodied variants. Mas matagtag ang urvan sa hiace? No. Mas matagtag po ang Hiace (whether commuter or wide bodied grandia variants) over the urvan (whether shuttle, escapade or estate models).
Where I'm getting my facts? Our office has urvan escapades, urvan shuttles, hiace commuters and a hiace GL grandia, all being used to convey people from Mckinley Hill to Ayala and vice versa all day long. They are also being used for out of town events during weekends (baler, batangas, la union, etc...) and there are a lot times na foreign expats ang pasahero. As in bugbog po sila sa gamit.
Guess which units won the hearts of the expats? The urvan escapades.
PS: Hindi po bags ng cement, hollow blocks, sako ng bigas or steel beams ang mga expat namin (pero overweight din silang lahat). Kung cargo van lang ang purpose at hindi PASSENGER van, then I'd probably get a "heavy duty".......TRUCK.

If I remember correctly, magkalapit ang price neto dun sa Hiace Commuter. Ayun meron kang comfort along with close to Hiace Commuter level of performance. Kung kelangan ng mas malakas pa, the engine is already EFi so it would be easy to tune for more power and there would be more mods that can be added. At non-CRDi siya so hindi ganun karami ang sensitive parts.
sa totoo lang... naiisip ko din yang resale value... pero di ko sinama sa concerns ko. As I...
