Wigo on a road trip fully laden with 5 adults & camping gears for sure..?
with so many unknowns out there all the best of luck to you guys..
coming home, be prepared for unknown PMS costs as well..
OR..get a PPV/van for hire if you have the budget..it makes a lot of practical sense & peace of mind for your loved ones..
rent an innova.
it's got lotsa interior space. the five of you, even if on the slightly stouter side, won't bruise against each other, even on longer trips.
and you can get to your stash of goodies at the back, without having to stop and get out of the car. it comes in handy, in the rain and on the expressway..
the engine is also adequate for everyday drives.
but, in a pinch, the wigo should get you to where you want to go. wag lang sa masyadong matarik na daanan. it's only a 1 liter three cylinder engine... and there are five of you. personally, i do not know what its limits are, re. uphill driving.
but you should check its passenger weight limit. sorry, but my manual is... elsewhere right now.
errr... san ba punta ninyo?

Minivan. Not even the biggest SUV can beat it for comfort or room efficiency.
Of course, that's assuming the road conditions are okay.
Any 5-seater sedan (ex. Vios) or small SUV/AUV (ex. Avanza) should work. Hatchbacks without a proper trunk like a Wigo or Lancer don't have enough luggage space. Vans like Grandias are so big and you'll be so far away from eachother that it'll be hard to converse without shouting.
Jeremy Clarkson once called the Corolla "The World's Fastest Car" (New Zealand episode)
Rented kasi
So yes, based on personaly experience, masarap idrive ang rental car kasi sa totoo lang, wag ka lang mabangga, wala kang problem/pakialam sa sasakyan
So back to your question... If renting a car and budget is an issue... Try the Vios or Avanza (kainis lang ng rentals dyan sa Pinas, mostly MT units ang available)
In long term mas tatagal grandia compare sa grand starex period

c'mon guys, they have a wigo and it's all they've got. mali lang yung thread title nya. i don't tjink he is asking what vehicle to rent, rather he is asking if the wigo would suffice.
and my answer is yes the wigo will be ok. we make do with what we have. when all i had was a kia cd5 i fit 6 people on a trip to pangasinan passing through lahar where the bridges were down and a trip from QC to Tarlac can take 10 or more hours due to all the detours one had to take. a wigo with 5 on board should be more than ok on todays roads.
my suggestion only is to invest in a good roof rack for extra luggage capacity. and please do check the tires and the spare are in good condition.
When I was young, I traveled a lot with my dad to both Subic Naval Base and Clark Air Base. Even back in Marcos' time, the roads were okay enough. Our route was MacArthur's Highway(?)-EDSA-South Expressway-Alabang-Zapote Road. None of them seemed particularly noisy.
EQAddict has a Kia Sedona minivan. Perhaps, he can provide some firsthand experience about minivan noise on Manila streets.
nasa mga bibiyahe lang iyan kung pano ang diskarte sa "road tripping"....
kahit anong sasakyan basta nasa kondisyon kakayanin....
yung mga nabisita ko na indian forums nga e mga tipong hyundai i10, picanto, etc na maliliit na kotse e pinangaakyat nila ng mga matataas na bundok nila dun....rohtang pass, etc.....
Aww! Thanks a lottt for your support! I didnt expect to get so many helpful advice!
We are afraid our luggage cannot fit in the Wigo so we are considering to rent an Avanza. We have never taken any road trip so we dont know if noise in car should be taken into account? Will it be a big problem? I can only think of space and fuel efficiency when it comes to rent a car for a road trip
We haven't finalized our itinerary yet. Wanna listen to your experiences? Or any suggestion for me pls?
Sorry if I missed any replies..
THANKS A BUNCH!

Which part of the country are you going to travel? Road conditions? Luggage space requirements? What’s the condition of your friend’s car? Tires and brakes are good? No overheating issues?
Those are common checklists when going for a road trip.
2-3 person traveling, my vote will be nissan navara. Good all around vehicle
