If it isn't your primary car, the 86 will be awesome! I think the 86 will hold better value than the old Lancer GSR. I myself love my dad's old '79 Corolla SR.

well, you might get married within 10 yrs from now, so space might be your concern but if you don't now need a bigger trunk/space & you're still bachelor then go for it otherwise mas practical lang ang altis/lancer. Dadami chics mo nyan pag ang car mo gt86. Hehe

    Thanks in advance!

Add ko lang pala do you think the gt 86 is worthy of keeping in lets say 10 years?

86 is a very, very nice car. Pero here's a thing, 86 is hindi ganun kaluwag. Kung baga, it's not your typical everyday ride. More of weekend car ang 86. Kahit tatay ko nagagandahan sa 86 pero sabi niya, ok yan kotse na yan kung madami kang pera at hindi yan ang kaisa-isang kotse mo.

Tama si kimbon, why not a Mazda 3? Get the 2.0R hatchback, and you're good to go!

Yup most of the time naman ako lang gagamit let's say for client meetings etc..

May suv and sedan sa house na I could borrow from my parents if I need space ( outings etc.. ) hehe

And the reason I asked kung worthy ba sya to keep in the next 10yrs is because I don't plan to sell it if ever kasi. I don't know maybe because 1st car using my hard earned money kaya gusto ko hangang pagtanda nasa garahe ko siya Sorry madrama hahaha

If that's the case then get the 86.

an 86 for a first car.. might not be a practical choice.
but hey! sports cars are not about practicality.
and if you fall in love with that car, you might just never sell it at all.

so stand back a little, and think some more.. this is what some folks may say.. "ayun.. bumili ng malaking laruan, tapos hihiram-hiram ng ibang kotse..".
    heh heh.

i have never seen an 86 on display at my favorite casa.. maybe deliveries are so uncommon, the units are driven off by the buyers as soon as they arrive.. i go there regularly for the cafeteria's lunch.. para iba naman sa upisina namin..

pansin ko bihira or wala toyota dealer may test units ng mga high end models. pag wala kayo mahanap, brz ka na lang sir, iirc naalok ako noon ng test drive but i was more interested sa ibang model na for testing then.

BTT: GTA, im under the impression na marami ka naman pang gas sir and fun/porma/feel good factor hanap mo. hehe my case/experience i prefer using my gas guzzling car kesa economy car namin just because i feel better sa former and of course dahil i already got over my obsession sa fuel economy

WRX nalang. Same practicality as an Altis, goes faster than an 86.

Whatever sports car you decide, do keep in mind that it's gonna cost almost double your original budget. Personally, I'd put the money towards getting a house. Pero mukha namang kapit ka pa rin kay mommy and daddy so sige, splurge.

Well then if you can afford it, WRX na. Or Forester XT if you want something more versatile.

Not many 24-year olds have 1.8M to spare for a first car, so might as well enjoy it.

Bro I'm also 24 years old. My current car is hyundai accent and I'm getting my 2nd car this end of the month or 1st week of feb. And it's a white Subaru BRZ. napaisip ako before kung wrx or brz pero naisip ko may everyday car na sedan na ko kaya pinili ko na BRZ kasi iba dating ng 2 door sports car. Just follow your heart. Ganun ginawa ko at self earned money naman kaya bilhin mo gusto mo. Sarap idrive ng BRZ/86 promise. Hehe

Maiba ako, curious lang ha, what do you do for a living? Very few local corporate jobs would allow you the finances to buy a 2 million peso car in less than 5 years of working. Even with startup businesses, it's very rare to achieve that success in that little time. Not even the stock market can multiply returns that large, unless you started with huge capital already.

Hats off to you guys if indeed your careers have flourished so early on from zero.
