Hi Everyone, I'm new here on the community and would like to seek advise. as we will try to buy a car next week and we are choosing between the two cars 2015 NEW HONDA CITY 1.5 VX CVT or 2015 NEW LANCER EX A/T 1.6. Please do enlighten me on what are the Pros and Cons of these 2 cars and if you will choose between these two what will you choose? we will use the car more on city driving lang and for family use since i have 3 kids. just want to know what between these two will fit our family. Thanks in advance.

Saka isa pa po palang question kasi yung mga nakausap namin galing sa olx na agent yung mga post na "fast/sure approval". mga legit po ba yung mga yun? kasi wala pang 1 day na approve na kami tapos pinapagpasa na kami ng documents then makukuha na agad yung unit.we asked and was told na "broker" daw siya ng bank and may mga kilala sila sa loob ng bank kaya mabilis approval. medyo hesistant lang kami if these kind of deals are legit or not. we still have a few more days to decide before magclose yung deal.

Between the two, I'd choose the City because it's more efficient, more spacious, and looks better. The 1.6 Lancer feels so stripped down to me, especially considering that the GT-A is less than 100k more expensive after discounts.

    Not considering the Altis 1.6G?

Hey City owner here, I will not compare the two since BS for sure ako pero one thing na sobrang nagustuhan ko sa city is yung legroom ng backseat. Maluwag sya. Kung 5 lang kayo sa family ok na ok!

As for the approval, yung sakin 3 days processing lang. Honda Makati. Maraming nagsasabi na mabilis na daw yun.

Thanks! we are also looking into altis 1.6G but we are in a tight budget for buying a car. that is why we were able to bring down the choices for cars between city and EX.

IMO the Lancer is already old but it aged well. For me, I'll go for the City. It looks futuristic to me.

Given your choices, my vote goes to the City. It has more toys, a more modern design, better fuel efficiency, and the H badge which is a great advantage if you will be selling it in the future. Assuming atleast 10K kms mileage every 6 months, I believe PMS is almost the same even if the lancer has a bigger engine.
I am just concerned on your family count of 5, the sedan might be too small for your family several years from now. Try delaying the purchase for several weeks and consider the small mpvs like the avanza and ertiga. I only have 1 child planning to add 1 more in the near future but with our 1 year old vios, I am already starting to save for an upgrade to a bigger vehicle probably 4 years from now. Maybe because we travel a lot during weekends from my family to my byenan.
But if you really need to decide immediately as you've mentioned, what I might do if I am in your position is bring in the whole pack, test drive both vehicles, and have a diplomatic vote between family members. It depends to you if you will give a higher weight to the vote of the misis.

The Lancer EX platform has aged well but Mitsubishi really needs a replacement for it. Between the two, I'd go with the City VX. The new City is near the size of most compacts nowadays. However, with a price around 900k already, I might just add a bit more and get a sub 1M compact instead. The new Altis and Sylphy are like the size of old midsize cars already.

Mitsubishi Japan stated that there won't be a new Lancer anytime soon since it will be focusing on SUVs, PHeVs, and EVs na.

The Lancer EX is ageing gracefully.
The model may be old but for the looks and specs, I think only the SkyActive Mazda 3 can beat it.

*TS : You can get the TOTL EX GTA for small additional amount. Tingin ko nasa around 900k na din yan because of the discounts offered by the dealers. If that's my money I will definitely get the Lancer.

    Hi!
Got this review from this link..
2015 Honda Civic vs. 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer: Compare reviews, safety ratings, fuel economy, etc.

    COMPARISON REVIEW
    Comfort
The Honda Civic offers rear passengers about the same space to stretch out as the Mitsubishi Lancer with comparable rear head- and legroom in both vehicles. The Mitsubishi Lancer will be a favorite with taller drivers due to its greater front head- and legroom than the Honda Civic.

    Convenience
The Honda Civic will require fewer stops at the gas station than the Mitsubishi Lancer, making it more convenient to drive.

    Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Whether you pick the Honda Civic or the Mitsubishi Lancer, it's going to cost you about the same. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Honda Civic and the Mitsubishi Lancer have similar Destination Charges.

    Dimensions
The Honda Civic is about the same width as the Mitsubishi Lancer. When looking at overall length, the Honda Civic takes up about the same amount of space in your garage as the Mitsubishi Lancer.

    Drivetrain
The Honda Civic has much less torque than the Mitsubishi Lancer, which generally means that it won't feel as fast or powerful.

    Handling
The Honda Civic has a larger turning radius than the Mitsubishi Lancer, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

    Performance
The Honda Civic has less horsepower than the Mitsubishi Lancer, so it will probably be somewhat slower.

    Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Honda Civic and the Mitsubishi Lancer. You'll be able to fit about the same amount of groceries into the Honda Civic as you will in the Mitsubishi Lancer.

The wow factor of the City is just that for a sub-compact w/ a compact car price, has a comparable compact car space.
Its newer and has more gadgets inside. Although, its really expensive for the category.

What's good w/ the Lancer is that its aged well. Maporma, and better all around. You also get good discounts.
    Its your call though.

They are right, space is big for honda city cvt. Tried it with five adults and one child on a road trip to Batangas.
