Wait for the Kia Seltos before deciding ... Also, don't let an 18-year old decide what car to buy ... Most still have a long way to go before they are able to choose a car wisely ...

Hindi factor yung fuel, resale value, at kung ano ano pa. Basta yung ma enjoy lang nung anak ko.

    Hi!

First of all I want to apologize as this may appear as hijacking.

I'm a new member here and unfortunately, not able to start a post.

However, I have a very similar concern kay TS.

I'm planning to get our first family car and ang nagugustuhan ko ngayon is yung Vitara and Xpander.

I like Vitara as it is loaded with features (infotainment, sunroof, 6 airbags, etc.) but parang maliit sya for a family car (Although 5 and 7 yrs old pa lang nman ang mga kids)

Si Xpander naman, maluwag and gusto ko din ichura nya but not so much features. If I'm comparing it to Vitara, parang mas may value for money si Vitara if we'll look at the specs. But parang mas ideal as a family car si Xpander. Since I like them both, nahihirapan ako pumili but I want the best value for my money rin. I'm not sure which car will have a higher total cost of ownership in the years to come.

I'm hoping that you can share your thoughts or give me advise as I don't know much about cars. (My first car was a sedan when I was in Malaysia as OFW almost a decade ago)

    Thanks!

Go for the Vitara. It has ample space in the back if you are going on a trip since it's just the 4 of you. But if sometimes tou carry more than 4 people then the xpander would be the ideal vehicle.

You might want to check the ertiga amd the avanza as they can carry 7pax as well.

Always go for the safer car. Vitara passed the more rigorous EuroNCAP with 5 stars. Xpander only got 4 stars from AseanNCAP.

Vitara's got a better drivetrain, 1.6 with 6AT is a great combo, expect better fuel efficiency. Looks better too imo. Unless you really need the third row, its a no brainer.

Sir..
Matipid sa gas based from my experience..

Coolray. Normally I'd go for the Japanese brand over the Chinese but the Coolray is a whole lot of car for its price point. Much better engine, much better interior, more feature packed.

+1 on this. Even the Coolray is packaged better than the HRV or ASX. The Vitara and Ecosport are outclassed compared to the Coolray.

Manila dealership is operated by YGC, not sure who'll finance the regional expansion.

Thanks! Napaisip din ako dun sa 3rd row. Hindi naman talga palagi magagamit sa tingin ko. Kumbaga parang nice to have but not really needed.

You are practically getting a Volvo at a bargain. Geely owns Volvo and they used the same platform and technology as the Volvo XC40 on the Coolray.

I have a Mitsubishi ASX and it feels lagging in features and capability against the Coolray.

googling volvo just now, i read a report that puts volvo car reliability as "average".
the read was somewhat complicated to me... it defined "reliability" in not-general-street-lingo terms.
