I generally think the coolray is a good car. Design is above par and price for what you get is hard to beat.

From what is known, parts used for transmission and engine don't seem to be unknown or new brands/designs so at least that has something going for it.

I wouldn't also see it as placing it at 'par' in terms of reliability with the japs, but maybe above other chinese brands.

What i am curious about is how much maintenance is for the vehicle? Are we looking at 'premium pricing' for casa maintenance given that parts seem to be used with other volvo models? So they 'could' be obtainable outside casa but also with a premium pricing?

I am honesly considering it as a replacement if my cvt gives me any headaches in the near future.

I am hopeful for geely though as a brand here and hope it doesnt go the way of ssyangyong and chery as it seems to really have potential.

This coolray and the future atlas model are something to look forward to, heck maybe even the phev.

Kind of surprising they pulled the plug only after 3 months for the new model. What were they hoping for though if this was the move for lower sales in 3 mos?
What number were they eyeing? Makes me curious.
Did the zs and coolray both outsell the vitara?
Or is suzuki launching a more loaded vitara to keep up with the coolray and zs at a lower price point to its current srp?

Though i may not be a fan of the current vitara (i kind of like the previous generation that was more angular in design), i just find it perplexing management would do this so early in the game for what is essentially their flagship? Or would that fall to the Kizashi?

whoa. it was also our first choice until we got the xpander. maybe the expectations were too high since it was supposed to contend with the ecosport. kaso even with the ecosports' tranny issues, di pa rin siya natalo sa sales.

then came the rush, brv and xpander at the same price points. now the chinese. they also cited the taxes so baka di rin talaga makalaban kasi made in and imported from hungary.

If that is more or less the PMS cost for the Coolray, I think that is alright, even with a safety of 10-15% maybe over the 5 years of ownership as prices will most likely increase.

anong kayang parts ang papalitan sa 30k PMS? Looks like too early for timing belt, water pump, oil seals and more. too expensive for drive belts etc.

oh sorry, that's for 60K PMS, but still too expensive for these items.

I'm guessing Transmission fluid related since wet type DCT.

I'd say every 30k they'd require brake pads replacement. I kind of doubt they'd need to change Transmission fluid at 30k kms, so 60k seems more plausible.

To note, kaka 80k KMS ko lang sa Montero.. 28k php inabot. hehe! Change ATF, Change oil full synthetic, change brake pads and replace air filter.
