I'd just talked with the seller of Red Escape, may problema lang daw sa fuel pump..nagha-hard starting daw.

frake - 2 liter Escape is a bit sluggish if 3-4 people inside that car. About the fuel pump, how sure the seller yun lang ang problema? Bigyan mo lang 1k for checkup. Yung sa pinsan ko nung bumili sya ng 2nd hand 2006 Altis, nag join sya sa Altisclub and hired a member para samahan sya to check the car :-)

maraming salamat sir sa input. Gawin ko po advice nyo. Naghahanap din po ako ng 2.3L. And yes, nasa 3-4 people nga po ang magiging sakay lalo pag weekend. Do you recommend a higher displacement that 2.3L?

About the seller, naapreciate ko din naman yung honesty nya and the tips to look after the fuelpumps specially for 2nd hand Escape at common daw po na sakit yun ng Escape. He also mentioned yung power steering hose eh palitin na din.

And for 350k may makukuha ka nang V6 eh. The 2.0L Zetec drinks gas like a small displacement V6 and performs like 1.8L. The Tribute looks fresh, if you have the budget you may consider checking it out.

Maraming salamat dito, sir. I'll look for the 2.3L. I just hope hindi ako makatyempo ng may tama.

Hi Sirs, had just visited the white tribute. It looks okay and has no problem with the starting. May konting gasgas which is understandable.

May mga schedules pa po ako sa ibang seller hanggang till the end of the week (nakakapagod. considering taga Bacoor ako and Ortigas yung pinuntahan ko)

Yes 3.0 ang V6. Sa durability naman, the two come from the same Ford Duratec engine family and were released at pretty much the same time so engine design and construction should not be too far apart.

Anong klaseng vibration? May tunog ba? Try checking out other Tributes and see if they exhibit the same sort of vibration at tanungin mo narin sa kanila about that. But then, our Escape 2.0 vibrates while idle too (though that should not be used as a benchmark since they use different engines, and from different engine families), maybe it has something to do with the cabin or engine mounts not being able to thoroughly filter the vibrations?

so either V6 or 2.3L would be a great choice when it comes to engine quality. ganun po ba sir?

Many thanks po ulit, sir GTi.

Both are great engines naman. And unlike some other engines, there are no known issues with them. So purely SOUND lang yung sinasabi mong vibration? There is nothing you feel? That car is very solid naman, I couldn't think of anything that is supposed to go loose. So far the only time I heard a rattling sound associated with vibration in our Escape, it was the stereo head unit that was somewhat loose from its mountings. It was quickly remedied by inserting a 10 peso coin on the gap. Is the vibration not associated with the engine running somewhat unrefined? Yung parang diesel na naka idle? If so siguro medyo mababa lang ang idling niyan, which can be easily fixed.

exactly like that, sir, pero hindi katulad ng vibration ng jeep na umaalog talaga...hehehe! palagay ko po tama kayo and baka mababa lang ang idling. Can it be fixed? kasi aside from that minor scratches na lang po yung concern which is fixable im sure.

Yes, nagets ko. Usually that can be fixed by cranking up the idling rpm. Any auto mechanic should be able to do that.

If the one you saw was selling for 300+k then it must be the 1st gen version, which is not a good buy. The drivetrain is excellent, being derived from the Lancer Evo but the engine is a major letdown spewing only a paltry 136ps out of 2.4L of displacement which means performance isn't good and so is fuel consumption. The Outlander worth buying would be the 2nd gen which is a very, very good car that is still capable of battling it out with the current CUV offerings in the market but then that is out of your budget already...

i will, sir. actually earlier meron kami ni misis pinuntahan na escape. biglaan lang kami napapunta kasi yung kaibigan ko ang may kakilala sa seller. the vehicle is a 2L 4x2 Escape. Makinis and orignal pa yung paint. he interior naman is medyo amoy luma as the car daw was not that maintained by the owner since nasa abroad. Pero kung titignan mukhang ok pa talaga. all the functions are working well. This time ako nag drive, naramdaman ko yung bagal, kaso my comparison naman is the vios i am using at the moment. medyo parang mabigat...and parang under power nga. Medyo gusto ko na namin ng misis ko kunin since the price is only 300K.

I-try ko din na i-drive then i will let my instinct make the decision. :D

I assume 3 persons inside the car? (You, wifey and the seller).

2.3L ba yung macheck nyo bukas?
