Tribute dahil sa relatively mas bago makukuha mo same price range may moon roof ka pa na bonus. Type mo lang escape or tribute sa sulit and you'll see what I mean.

Well... And then there's the availability of 4WD which is totally absent in the Tribute. I really like the way they designed the interior. Pero kung napakalaking bagay sayo ang fuel consumption then the Tribute is the only one with the 2.3L engine and power moonroof. Also interesting to note that the Tribute has a grey interior versus the Escape's beige so it is easier to clean. We have a 2010 Escape 2.3XLS in Taiwan and I was told that though nothing like the 3.0V6, the 2.3L offers good power naman, and that reaching speeds of 190-200km/h should not be much of a problem. The FC it gets there is around 9-10km/L city, take note that Taiwanese traffic conditions (especially since hindi kami sa capital) are very much like American traffic conditions. However, 2.3L Tribute's are surprisingly rare in the 2nd hand market, I'll do my best to find some for you.

Goodluck. Take your time and its good to go around and look at several vehicles before deciding

If you happen by The Fort, try checking also Ford Global City. They have a good number of trade-in vehicles there and we were able to get our Ford Escape and Ford Everest from them before at pretty fair prices (these were either trade-in or demo units). Check out also the Manila Bulletin Classified ads on Sunday. Marami dyan.

Haha!~ Dapat pala binenta ko sayo Trooper namin which we just sold last month. Kung tiningnan mo ang Trooper thread sa Isuzu section you will see the headaches the people are having with it, although we ourselves had relatively little problems with it for the eight years it had been with us except for some alternator problems (replaced with higher capacity alternator) and the injector problems (replaced by Isuzu for free). Once nagkaproblema yung turbo, and we were tricked by the mechanic to replacing the whole thing although much later nalaman namin na pwede pala ayusin.

There are very few local cars with standard power moonroof so the Tribute and V6 Escape are pretty much the best options you can get. There are the Lynx 1.6Ghia and 2.0RS, Focus 2.0, Mazda 3 2.0, Nissan Cefiro Elite, Nissan Exalta and that's pretty much it. Still, the Escape/Tribute would be the best choice since it the power moonroof, lots of space and a higher ground clearance. Although of course most converted Japan surplus cars have standard power moonroofs, should you be considering those be sure to get a newer unit since the older ones have bigger tendencies of leaking!

Thanks for the list of cars, sir. I really just hope matuloy yung figure na ineexpect ko and hwag maudlot sa kahit anong dahilan.

Nabasa ko din po yung thread ng Trooper kaya nagdalawang isip ako and...hindi din naman aabot budget ko in the first place.

If money is no object in my situation, i would rather get my self a brand new Montero or Fortuner, which is what i really want. Pero nanghihinayang ako sa ihuhulog every year for 4-5years. I really just pray to God and hope na maganda and matino pa ang mapili kong sasakyan, may it be escape or tribute.

Another suggestion ko lang. Have you ever considered Korean surplus? As long as you are sure about the condition of the vehicle, its no different than local cars since its not converted. There are Starex units with dual sunroofs, you may be interested.

Haha~ Onga eh. As long as you can find a good unit, a Starex is always a good buy. But its very hard to find 1st gen Starex's with the dual sunroof option, even among the grey market units. So far I've scoured everywhere I can think of but can only find these two that have any mention of having sunroofs. But then, dapat alamin mo na hindi mabilis humatak ang mga to, pag umabot ng mga 160km/h hindi na gaanong tataas yan. You may consider some light performance mods to somehow improve that. Oh, and I recommend the 2nd unit more than the first, by the way.

I'd overlooked the sulit ID...and now my head is spinning...hahaha! It has what my daughter & son's want, for me it looks nice, matic pa, plus, as you said, matipid & mura ang pyesa. Im not much into speed naman. 160km/h is okay with me, as long as kaya mag overtake sa tricycle and slow moving vehicles.

Maraming salamat ulit sir sa info and pagtulong. Also sa fellow tsikoteers natin. Wala talaga akong alam sa sasakyan pero at least meron ako basic idea what to look for.

But I am glad that I was able to help you in some ways. Keep us posted then!
