Then do the renewal of registraion anywhere.

Mas maganda yata pagkabili nung car ay magchange ownership kaagad sa Manila while renew the registration nalang sa Mindanao. Tama po ba ang naiisip ko?

Dear RST 169, 1D4 LV at sa mga readers,

Thank you for your reply regarding sa mga concerns ko.

Im here kasi out of the country kaya medyo di ko alam yun procedures.

Here is the scenario na nangyari.

(Nakapangalan sa nanay yun car) Nawala n daw yun original CR so OR lng daw ang meron sya.

Ang report po ng brother ko ay binili na nya yun car by cash (400 K) at naiuwi na nya yun car at biigay sa kanya ay deed of sale (di notarized) at XEROX copy ng OR lng (400,000 pesos = car+OR + CR at deed of sale)

Ang concerns are below: Ano payo nyo para maiwasan hassle (if any)

    1. OR ay xerox copy lng. Nawala daw ng seller OR at CR. May hassle b me ma experience in future? Ano po solution?

    4. Need b yun ORIGINAL CR sa TMG or LTO for any transactions like clearances, tranfer of ownership at registration.

    5. Any suggestion will help para makausap agad yun seller para mahobol namin at maka request ng necessary documents kung ano b dapt gawin at maiwasan any hassles in future.

Salamat in advance.

OR at CR ay di original

question? is the name appearing on the OR the same as the name on the DOS?

Ang concerns are below: Ano payo nyo para maiwasan hassle (if any)

    1. OR ay xerox copy lng. Nawala daw ng seller OR at CR. May hassle b me ma experience in future? Ano po solution? hassle kasi yan sa mga checkpoint and or instances where proof of ownership is required. If I were you, Id have the ownership transferred to my name ASAP

Sabi mo nawala na nung owner ang OR/CR di ba? so ang option mo na lang talaga to get a CR is through a formal request sa LTO. BTW whats the ending plate ng car? baka naman malapit na renewal, antayin mo na lang para me orig OR ka na

    4. Need b yun ORIGINAL CR sa TMG or LTO for any transactions like clearances, tranfer of ownership at registration. dapat. pero in your case, affidavit of loss would suffice.

    5. Any suggestion will help para makausap agad yun seller para mahobol namin at maka request ng necessary documents kung ano b dapt gawin at maiwasan any hassles in future. have her execute a notarized affidavit of loss for the OR/CR. then go to LTO and go from there

Salamat in advance.

OR at CR ay di original

medyo alanganin sitwasyon niyo. Dapat habang maaga ayusin mo iyan at baka sa bandang huli ay magkaproblema ka ng malaki. next time exercise due diligence before parting with your hard earned money

First of all is check the papers if they are legit. Since xerox copies are the ones available (verify this through the LTO office where the CR is registered).

Second is like what sir RS stated if the papers are in order check if this seller (son) is really the son of the owner. You will save yourself a lot of worries and legal problems later. Be sure to have the affidavit of loss notarized and executed by the owner (the name on the CR and OR).

    HI Sir 1D4LV!

As per my question & your reply below. Please clarify/explain how can we avail the "LTO text facility". How can we do this and where can we ask for more information. Seems a good & easy way po

    5. Gusto ko i check bago bilhin yun car, bago rin me magbayad, . So how can we check it na di sya carnap-HOT car-may pending cases....TMG requires to bring the car (yta) or any means na magawa ko ito para iwas hassle

    - use the LTO text facility

    i hope 1D4LV doesnt mind.

The LTO 2600 text facility is not a reliable source of info. Delayed po ang updating ng database nito and at the same time hindi pa kasama ang TMG alarm. LETAS violation lang kasama dito.

If the LTO 2600 indicates the car has registration problems, then good, dont buy the car. But if it says otherwise, it still is not 100% accurate that the card is indeed "clean".

IMO sa TMG/HPG pa din safest way to verify.

If you still want to give it a shot then send "LTO VEHICLE <plate number>" to 2600.

    its ok.
sorry for not replying as soon as i can, been very busy the past few days.

    to answer:

    - yes, its not that 100% reliable because of the factors stated by rst, but i am sure that if it is a second hand car, updated na database nun.
what you can do is to do a manual check of the information stated at the LTO text with the papers that you have on hand like the OR/CR, if it matches, then its around 99% sure that its clean.
    - you can still go to TMG if you really want to be sure. but then, it will take time. and the expense is at your part, even though you are not getting the car pa, you have to spend for this already.

sir there is no problem with the info on the database itself. updated na po iyun. what i am saying na hindi updated ay ang alarm and apprehension especially po sa TMG.
