August 6th, 2017 01:16 AM #81I was thinking of the same, dog paw socks.
So the only advantage of the XV over the Civic is higher ground clearance?
I also put a bed sheet over the seats but when he gets over-stressed because of long drives, he barks at dogs he sees outside and starts pawing the door. The Montero I drive has some scratches on the inner skin of the rear doors.

August 6th, 2017 08:11 AM #82Am assuming your at late 20's... so i'd suggest the civic rs. [emoji4]
I also assume you don't bring your dog all the time, so just use your family's bigger car as needed.
Or wait for the new CR-V. [emoji7]

August 6th, 2017 08:50 AM #83Your assumption is spot on
What's the difference between the regular RS Turbo and the Modulo/Modulo Sport?
Correct, I don't bring my dog all the time but I don't have access all the time to my family's cars because they're all in Pampanga (I live in Manila).
I'm waiting for August 8 for the new CR-V, yes. Are there any prices on that yet?

August 6th, 2017 08:59 AM #84For the two cars you have in mind I'd choose the civic in a heartbeat this is just my preference.
However, if you are also considering trunk space then maybe you can consider the mazda 3 hatchback.

The Modulo Civic is a waste of money - it's basically a regular Civic with tacky aesthetic bits slapped on.
If you really want a Civic, just choose between the RS (1.4M) and the regular 1.8E (1.1M).
The 300k difference gets you a more powerful engine with the same consumption as the 1.8, paddle shifters, leather seats, rain-sensing wipers, LED headlamps, slightly bigger rims, a rear spoiler, and other minor differences in the exterior and interior trim.
As it is though, the 1.8E is already a feature-packed car, with a remote start feature allowing you to start the car and aircon even when you're not inside, push button ignition and keyless entry, automatic LED headlamps, an Android-based touch screen head unit with Bluetooth, Android Auto, and Apple Carplay, automatic climate control, and so on. The 1.8L engine is powerful enough for highway driving (it will do over 200 kph without a sweat), yet is also as efficient as older 1.6L engines for city driving (7-8 km/L in moderate to heavy traffic). It also has the fundamentals which make the Civic a class-leader - futuristic looks inside and out, lots of space, and outstanding handling without compromising comfort.
However, if bringing your dog with its cage is a real priority for you, the Civic can't accommodate that. Either you let him in the car without a cage (just paw socks), or you get a different car altogether just for your dog.
The CRV will be launched on August 8. Expect pricing of the gas engine to be at around 1.5-1.6M. The base diesel will be around 1.6-1.7M. The mid-range diesel with complete features will be at around 1.8M.
It will definitely be frugal, spacious, and loaded with tech.

August 6th, 2017 12:13 PM #87Ok.
I'm starting to like the civic morw and moreBut like I mentioned earlier, I was kinda expecting the Honda Sensing tech to be in the Civic but unfortunately it is not. Reading this feature suit from the fine print and experiencing it personally when I drove a Nissan Altima in California in the past, I can say they are quite useful safety features. Is this a let down for the Civic?
I don't know which features will the local 2018 Subaru XV will have but I think it has some of the similar features in the Honda Sensing suite. Is there a documentation around that says these?

No Honda Sensing and the Philippine market isn't looking for it. Even in the CRV, it's only available on the 2.2M version. Not a let down for me at all - I can drive and avoid accidents without all the electronic nannies. ABS and traction control go a long way in avoiding accidents already.
The closest thing you can get to Honda Sensing under 2M is if you get the Everest Titanium Premium at 1.9M which has blind spot sensors, adaptive cruise control, collision warning, etc.
You won't know the specs of the new XV until it's launched. Your best bet is to look at the specs of the new Impreza - which has blind spot detection and nothing else. Not quite the entire Honda Sensing suite you're looking for I assume. Subaru's term for it is Eyesight, and no the Impreza doesn't have it and most likely the XV won't either.
