    Surprisingly, quite good.

The Alphard is based heavily on the Camry.

Unsurprisingly, during our testing, the Alphard drove just like that... a much heavier Camry V6 with a slightly longer wheelbase.

It was less than a second slower to 100 km/h (faster, in fact, than a V6 Explorer). It was almost as quick through the slaloms. And it braked slightly better... probably because of the better front-rear weight distribution.

I would, without hesitation, take an Alphard out on the racetrack. Good steering, low center of gravity (despite the tall looks, a van like that has all its mechanicals down low, unlike an SUV where the floor, differentials and engine are raised higher off the ground), great brakes.

All you would have to do to make it more potent is to strip the interior and power amenities. It's around 2 tons, that would take it down to around 1.8 tons. Then replace the doors with carbon fiber or even just fiberglass. Add a sports suspension (hoping Camry struts and springs fit) and you're done!

Of course, it would be nice to add a supercharger for more oomph...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Naghahanap na ata siya ngayon ng Alphard with carbon fiber doors.

Amusing how i remember the TS started by just looking for a car since ayaw lang niya ata mag commute/taxi after his model shoots or something... ngayon gusto na niya rezing-rezing. Follow what the others said and don't listen to the BS some people tell you of having to mod up, "gauge", etc... There will always be bigger fish in the ocean and if you want to have serious speed, you better have the bakal, skills and wallet to back it up. And do keep it off the streets.

Go with what SiRbossR said. Keep it clean, put nice mags and just keep the car maintained and running well.

... AND if you do have to go street racing, make sure your car have enough engine power & performance to blow the doors off car twice your size. Unfortunately, basic bolt-on mods will not achieve this level of performance.

Gash imagine when the current gen Impreza starts to trickle down to the second hand market at low prices.

Less chassis/suspension flexing makes handling better & sharper.

Note: suspension upgrades for better performance usually ends up with (bad) stiff ride which is uncomfortable as daily driver. The key in a daily driven street car is the balance between comfort & performance.

On the Carens, I'd go with the rear anti-sway bar and the front four-point. Forget the tower brace, most modern cars don't need it since the strut towers are triangulated into the firewall already.

I don't know if you'll notice the front four-point or tower brace, but you'll definitely notice the rear anti-sway bar on a vehicle as soft as the Carens.

Hehe... Peer pressure is a powerful thing, bro. Since he has already started installing bolt-ons and his D15B friend has challenged him to race... We shall then help him smoke that thing! :hysterical:

50K does not even pay for the adjustable suspension upgrades.

Years ago I bought a 2nd hand B14 Sentra with a SR20 engine for a little over P200K. It was fast but I wanted to go even faster. I spent well over P150K in parts alone (labor not yet included) to make it go faster and handle better. Wheels, tires, custom exhaust system, piggyback fuel management ecu, adjustable rate shocks, track-rated lowering springs, K&N filter, electronic speed de-limiter, etc. And a few hours of dyno tuning to get the engine to perform its best.

lambot nga ng suspension ng carens, not much fuzz sa city drive, pero pag sumulong highway or ung pababa sa teresa or pag country roads, lumalabas ang pagiging ma-buway nya...

so una ko invest is the 4-point low brace Front Lower Bar / Front Member Brace (UR-LA4-766) and 19mm rear sway bar? how about the front low 2-point Front Lower Bar / Front Member Brace(UR-LA2-765), Rear Lower Bar / Rear Member Brace (UR-RLS4-767P)-pair, Rear Lower Bar / Rear Member Brace (UR-RL2-768) and for me kasi having a front tower bar pampapogi nalang halos sa engine bay e..

anu po sa tingin nyo kunin ko sa set na yun na magbibigay ng balance between comfort and performance-->kahit pan-track-days lang.RWYB is not my priority, pero kung makakapasok, why not..

    -------

ask ko lang din--may effect ba ang paglagay ng o-suley?

    ---------

nagmomod ako para mameet ko ung hinahanap ko drive na gusto ko... ie. ung x-xtrail ko.. di ako nagfocus sa mods kasi performance wise its good enough for me... matakaw nga lang sa gas!

sleeper mode mods ko....pag nakasakay si amo dapat tame..pero pag gusto ko maglaro, dapat game..di ako makakaramdam ng hesitation from my ride.

Dapat pala talaga nagcommute nalang ako.. Wahahahaha, Pero tingin nyo, anong bagay na mags sa itim na RS? Mas trip ko kasi 16's lang eh para di naman hurt performance. Bagay kaya sakin yung CF hood, CF bumper. CF grill? )

Agree with what sir chua has said.

But if you ask for my opinion, personally I find the stock RS rims to look good. At 16 inches it already fills up a large part of the wheel well and I find it big enough. If you further go up to 17 inches, ride quality will suffer a lot. Trust me, there is a very noticeable difference in terms of ride comfort between our Accord 2.4 which uses stock 16 inch rims, and our Accord 3.0 which uses aftermarket 17 inch rims. And then you will have to retune the suspension, change the shocks, hassle, hassle, hassle. So if the 16s look good and you're tired of your old rims, then go for 16s still.

Huwag na kasi lagyan ng CF. Mahal yan at hindi classy ang dating so kapag nagtagal yan mag-iinip ka rin diyan at maniwala ka sakin, ibabalik mo rin yan to its original look.

CF hood looks good on a black RS... other CF parts... not needed.

Stock wheels are super pogi... if you ever change them, don't trade them in. They're in high demand and are VERY hard to find outside.

If you want to make them look more aggressive, buy a 205/50R16 or 205/45R16 tire with rim guards. They'll give you a very nice, square chunky look on the stock wheels.

Rear sway... definitely a good addition. Up to you which one you want most in front... a front lower sway bar might have more effect than the four-point, but it will depend on the car. I know a little about the Carens shortcomings, but I only drove it for a short while.

Everything else, up to you... The Carens CRDi is super quick for a seven seater... so suspension and tires are really the only things you need to address. Perhaps better brake pads for more bite, but you're limited in applications. Perhaps the RunStop guys can help you find out if other Hyundai-Kia applications will fit (like Elantra brakes, for example).

But of course, anytime you use your full braking capacities on the road, you're driving way too fast. Suspension should do it for you. With a good set of bars, the handling will improve more than simply stiffening the springs.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
