yup. same tayo ng iniisip na cars...

    Kia Besta
    Hyundai Grace
Yung unang Civic only had a 1.1L engine tapos walang power steering

    Fast forward to 2023...

The cheapest Staria (commuter) Php 1,850,000 is way more expensive than the cheapest Toyota Hiace Commuter (₱ 1,379,000)

    we had a besta.
good vehicle. reliable naman, and cheaper parts (at that time).
and because of the mirrors all around, we could maneuver it within inches of the wall.
when we had to replace the clutch, we got the japan mazda equivalent... aba! napaka-lambot!
hassle lang yung aircon nung finally na-sira.
    heh heh.

I think JMC and Foton are still cheaper alternatives to Toyotas and Nissans. in a business perspective, malaking bagay din yung 100K price difference nila

Cars naman, I think "value for money" pa din yung Chinese and Indian brands.

dealers also have to recuperate their expenses.

pero honestly, I personally feel that those buying the non-traditional car brands that we have started considering those cars because of its price.

Remember when it was all Toyota, Mitsubishi and Isuzu Gemini?

We started looking at Nissan, Honda and Kia because their cars were cheaper.
If you compare their price increases from other manufacturers, mas malaki pa rin yung increase ng units from Geely compare sa other brands. This year Jap brands only had price increases ranging from 30k-60k but yung Geely, 100k - 300k and that was last year. Probably they will follow-up that price increase again this year since mostly mga car brands every new year may price increase eh.
Dami na sana cgro sa daan ngayon Emgrand if the price stayed for 2 yrs. Not sure though how many units were sold from that old price.

And yes, dahil lang talaga sa price + feature offering (luxury interior) kaya Geely propelled to top 10 easily.
I think dahil din sa association ng brand with Volvo as parent company kaya may plus factor din sa salespitch. Not sure though if mas early ba sila sa market natin compare to other chinese brands.

Other chinese brands which has great pricing also from their offerings are nowhere to be found from the list except Chery.

They are going the way of korean cars, introductory pricing and then fool themselves that they are now ripe for an alignment of prices based on their overwhelming sales.

The Chinese brands are in the same position as the Korean Brands in the late 90s early 20s

Undercutting everyone in price to set a foothold in the market. Once they have set a foothold in the market, they equalize their prices with everyone on the assumption that the quality of their offerings is equal with maybe more features and better styling

But just like the Koreans, not all will survive. Daewoo is gone and Saangyong is basically non existent.
