Adding a box bro is not an option talaga for me. im planning to do a pseudo 3 way stereo system for my setup.
This is my plan setup btw
HU
Left/right channel Stereo out
4 channel amp
2 channels for midrange and tweeter
2 channels 6" woofer (rear)
Btw the car might not stay with me that long. Planning to use it for 2 years lang so i dont want to spend too much din.
Sa home theater, i spent around 200k (almost 300k) for the source, room acoustics, speakers, sub, receiver etc.
Anyway visiting simple sound, mickeys etc. might change my mind hehehe
Update ko nalang kayo. Btw salamat sa woofer options/brands bro :-)
Hi,
Newbie here.
I recently bought a subbie car with stock touchscreen HU.
However, I feel that the sound isn't so loud and quality isn't so great(as a stock) compared to my other cars ( which have STOCK non-touchscreen HU]. This actually gives me a conclusion that the stock touchscreen HU doesnt have great sound power as compared to the other cars which have stock alpine etc [But I maybe VERY wrong]
I would actually like to just upgrade a bit without spending so much to be at least on par or slightly better than stock.
I normally use the car alone, sometimes with another passenger. So pretty much the backseat isn't used 95% of the time.
My question is :
1) Can I just replace my 2 speakers up front into something better? [cheapest]
- If yes, can my HU handle these speakers to give them better sound loudness and quality?
- How much normally would installation cost?
- Is there specific speakers that I can only use? (watts or? Since I think better speakers wont be handled by my HU too well and/or needs an ampi)
- and if anyone can recommend good shops near san juan city area
Thanks!
^^^ Updating your speakers may not result to a louder-sounding audio setup. How loud the speakers can go will depend on how much power you feed it. A stock or aftermarket head unit will only have a limited amount of power to be supplied to the speakers, around 20 watts. You will need an amplifier to power speakers properly. It would be best to use separates (midbass and tweeter combo) plus a subwoofer (all of wich powered by an amplifier) to get a decent-sounding setup. However, going thru such a path may end up you spending more than you have initially hoped for.
For budget audio setups, go check out Jeff Tan of Araneta Car Accessories along Araneta Avenue. He has a wide range of products to choose from. He can make the most out of your limited budget.![]()
1) Yes
- Yes
- Should be free if no modifications are done.
- Yes go get the Infinity Reference Series REF 6502IX, it costs around 3k. This type of speaker is a high sensitivity, low wattage, 3ohm speaker. Very ideal to be driven by the limited power your Head Unit has. You can always add a external amplifier if you feel you still want to go louder after initially installing them.
yung current sealed sub box ko for a 12" is too big, when the 3rd row seats are deployed and reclined eh at upright position lang possible yung seats kasi tumatama sa box - which nakes it uncomfortable to ride in the 3rd row
what would be my options?
- modify my current box (tabasan? is it possible??) so that the seats can fully recline
- create a new box
a. pahaba instead of a boxy one
b. would an underseat box be okay? i know it would not be as efficient pero am not pushing the sub naman to ear splitting levels, just for me to feel the beats
- others??
Definitely create new box bro. A or B should be fine, as long as same volume nung current box.
Anyone try those pioneer 8850BT headunits that have android auto and apple car play? How is it? Am thinking of getting one.
Specifically can you listen to spotify in your phone and have navigation on the screen at the same time?

Good morning!
I have a stock NP300 Navara which I'd like to upgrade a bit for better sound quality. Nothing too fancy and loud, just want good quality audio while driving etc.
I plan on upgrading my HU first then add an underseat amp and underseat sub. Might also upgrade the 4 stock full-range speakers to better mid-range speakers and then the 2 tweeters. For now I'll do the amp and sub first though.
Can anyone recommend a good quality budget amp and sub? Again, doesn't have to be too loud just as long as it will improve overall sound quality. Thanks a lot!
Mga boss,
Question ko lng ano maganda subwoofer setup for 2005 Sportivo with front facing 3rd row seats? Gusto ko sana upgrade ng konti sound ang sportivo ng dad ko as a gift.
Is a 12 inch shallow mount sub be enough and still have a little bit of trunk space? I saw online JL, Rockford, pioneer and Kicker shallow mounts. I will also upgrade the HU and seps. Thanks in advance mga boss!
For me, underseat subs does not improve the sound quality. It adds some low frequency, but then, you can localize the sound, plus it's distorted. So it does the opposite of your goal. The best place to start, if you are after SQ is to upgrade the seps first. Stock speakers suck. These are afterthoughts by car manufacturers. If you want some seps that got that low-end punch, try to look at Morel or DLS.
Salamat sa payo. Dito pa kasi ako sa US boss.
In my opinion, it would be advisable if you could get all the gears from the shop where they could do the install as well. This way, your installer can give you after sales support, like for example teach and guide you on how to play around with the knobs down from the HU to the amplifiers, etc. It would also be easier to claim warranty if ever the need arises. For short kung may palpak sa gamit at kabit nila, pwedeng pwede kang mag reklamo.
