Hindi lang yan puro deadening (case to point: my doors have like 3 sheets each; still rattles) that's why a lot of people who truly want to go sub-less cut their doors to accommodate a miniature enclosure in it (ex. Bewith midbass). It's like finding a bookshelf speaker and just slapping it sa doors.
The reason for this is that vibrations is your worst enemy as even a small rattle reduces your decibel output by a lot. That's why a 8" midbass doesn't sound as good as a 8" subwoofer. Drivers-aside, it's usually the enclosure.
Will it be worth it? Will depend on your taste. My recommendation is to first test it out. I would recommend a 50hz cutoff. Just remember to play around with the EQ and the slopes to get ample low-end. Don't be afraid to pump it up. Most midbass drivers can handle much more than you think.
