First is that please DO NOT buy Focal products over at sulit.com. Most of them (more than 90% actually) are fakes.

Yes. Kung walang tweeter attentuation, you can always opt to -1 the treble. In most cases, there's simply two things on why a tweeter sounds "harsh". One is that it's way above level -- in other words.. masyado siya malakas at emphasized. And two is that the tweeter is distorting and our ears equate that as harshness.

In the realm of speaker construction, I dunno how these speakers can be harsh by a long margin really. Unless pangit talaga pag-construct ng speaker designs nila. Coming from me, one of the main things I look for in judging a tweeter to be harsh is its materials. The reason why Focal is considered "bright" by many stems due to its metal dome tweeters. On the otherhand, silk dome tweeters are cheaper, easier to tune, easier to get right, but roll off earlier and contribute a "warm" sound. This is why a lot of speaker manufactures love silk dome tweeters (Morel, DLS, Dynaudio amongst the bigger ones).

JBL on the otherhand is famous for a unique "tweeter": compression loaded horns.

Sa totoo lang, you'll lean towards a certain sound eventually. But unless you've listened to a lot of systems, you probably won't know where you are.

P.S. I'm a bit biased on warmth. This is why in hi-fi, I prefer Dynaudios over Focal-JMLabs.

Hehe. Okay. So eliminate ko na si dls. Hhmmm. Limited na rin budget ko for amp. Around 6k lang. Naghanap ako. And i found JBL a604 for 6.5k. Kaso rated RMS ay 60w lang. Morels and jbl 609c are 90w. I know di naman siya magagamit fully pero di kaya ako mabitin if i want to crank up the volume paminsan minsan?

May nagsabi sakin na friend ko na 10k lang daw un Morel Tempo. Naguluhan tuloy ako lalo and thinking if I would go for the Tempo and close my eyes. hehe. Pikit mata ko siyang bibilhin nalang. and hope na makakuha ng pamasko totaling to 8.5k para makabili ng JBL 804ez (80w x 4) or any good amp for 8k na masusuggest niyo. Is my 3k extra worth it for the Tempo over the Maximo? Thanks.

It will follow the law of diminishing returns na once you go "up". However, for me, the extra 3k is worth it in gong from the Maximo to the Tempo. I always found the Tempo to be a great speaker set for its price.

    For the amplifier power questions:

Mabibitin ka ba? No. Although I don't know your listening volume so.. baka mabitin ka. But if you were to ask me outright.. I'll say no.

Nice. Thanks for that. So maybe I'll go for the tempo. But around 12k, (iverify ko pa price ng tempo today) best ba un morel tempo? May inooffer sakin sundown audio cs 6.5 for 12.5k. Ok ba to?

Siguro una ko na bibilin un jbl 804ez para flexible un seps ko. Actually may lightning audio pa for around 8500. Mas ok ba un kesa sa jbl? And also, hindi po ba medyo mababa un 80w per channel kung sakaling mag morel tempo ako? Kasi 120w ata un. And 80% nun ay 96. Kaya parang mababa ata masyado?

I'll be going for the Morel Tempo for 12k. Since tumataas ng tumataas un napipili ko, naisip ko magkano po ba ang Focal seps? un pinakamura. If nasa 12k lang din focal, is it better than Morel Tempo for 12k?

SQ isn't like CPU benchmarks where improvements are quantitative and linear.

You can buy expensive (Morel Tempo or Focal Access/PS) and you still might prefer the JBLs.

You don't buy them based on what's better. The only criteria you "buy" when upgrading is their potential.

Call Perfect Circle and ask if they have authorized resellers at the location near you.

Tanong ko lang pano ba gumagana or pano ba nakukuha tong bass na "gumagapang" daw. I just want to disprove some claims ng pinsan ko na I need powerful amp and sub para daw makuha to. Pano ba to? Can I achieve it with yun normal na included box sa mga packages ng shops? I have JBL GT5-12 Sub with ported enclosure.

Easy. You simply need a high volume level on very low frequencies (many tune theirs to be from 38hz to 34hz).

Contrary to popular opinion, sealed can also make gapang. It's just less efficient in doing so that's why people love ported boxes. Because at their tuned frequency, a ported box gives you free additional decibels.. and if you've read what I posted in KAC.. you should know how important decibels are. It's like jumping from a 300W amp to a 1000W amplifier.

Now is to make the box.. efficient in doing so. So you need to... make it large. The larger you go, the more efficient you are. In other words, if you have a 1 cu.ft ported box and you hit your maximum excursion (one-way cone travel) at 700W. If you redesign that box to 2cu.ft, you'd probably just need around 300W to hit the same amount of cone travel.

Third is the subwoofer design. The higher the one-way linear cone travel or xmax. The longer your "throw" is and the more output you get. This is generally why the JL W7 costs 30,000php while the JL W3 costs 8,000php.

If you're on a budget, the most affordable and easiest way to get a high decibel output is... to get ENOUGH power... and get a lot of cheap BIG expensive subwoofers in a BIG ported box.

For your current setup, I won't really suggest trying to show off your sub's gapang. It'll probably overtax your amplifier in this case and you don't want that ;) You WILL have gapang.. but you won't have excessive amount of it.

Guys do you suggest 2 layers ng deadening? Kasi currently 1 layer lang un akin. And the shop owner suggests na 2 layers ko daw.

Anyone knows acoustipad? Is this the same as oem?

Nung pinatanggal ng installer un door panel ko, tinignan ko un current na deadening ko. Parang kulay silver siya na foil. Is this oem butyl?
