and yes, i only plan to purchase a head unit with CD, AUX, and USB (+iPod) functionality. Bluetooth is useless to me. apparently my target HU can accommodate only four speakers. ill change speakers later on.

If then so, deadening will yield won't give you what you're primarily expecting. This is because sound insulation is only a secondary function of the buyl or asphalt MLV sheets you can buy in car audio shops. Their primary purpose is to add mass to a car in order to lower the resonant frequency of the panel. It's like hitting a metal with a stick... it's go TINNGGG.. but if you add mass like your hand, it'll dampen the sound.
