for a 4" coaxial speakers, marami naman mahahanap.

but for component speakers (seps), ang nakita ko lang na brands ay DLS and Ground Zero. and yes medyo pricey siya. I currently use DLS C4 for my ride. 4" seps. para lang wala nang fabrication na gawin since yun lang kakasya sa side doors ko.

Thanks for the quick reply... An installer's suggesting DLS separates front and another brand aft.... I can live with the tweeters sticking out a bit on both sides of the dash......

    What about the head unit?

All of them are in 1DIN and 2DIN formats naman. Choose whatever fits your need.

I need help in setting up my Hyundai Santa Fe 2012..

I have 60K Budget for sound setup for Seps, Amps, Deadening and Fabrication and I want it to be SQ setup. Meron na po akong 2 12" Rockford Subs (bought it from a friend. Somebody gave me an idea that DLS seps are good for SQ. Pinagiisipan ko po ung Amps (Mono and 4-ch) kung ano maganda. My question is, anong brand po ang magandang bilhin for Amps for SQ and san po magandang magpafabricate ng lalagyanan ng seps para sa Door? Gusto ko lang po kc na nakaharap ung tweets sa driver and passenger but I don't want it placed sa harap ng kotse. I hope you can help me on this.

Impossible for you to be truly "SQ" without the use of digital signal processing (DSP) found in aftermarket head units or processors. In both cases, they'll cost anywhere from 25% - 50% of your budget (dashkit included for those who'll be switching head units).

You can buy expensive speakers but you'll still fail in the SQ quality if you don't control your environment.

Thank you for your input. I just want to know if DSP like JBL MS-8 MS Series Digital Processor can be install in a stock head unit? Ayaw ko lang kasi mawala ung HU because of the GPS Feature. I just want to have a decent setup na hindi matinis ung tweets and at the same time malinaw ung boses ng kumakanta.

There's a lot of considerations to be made actually. But one of the most important is do you have an external amplifier (mostly in more upscale cars) since that'll complicate your setup a lot.

But yes, a DSP such as the MS-8 can be installed. However although it's advertised as plug-and-play, I wouldn't really recommend purchasing one and having shops install them here. Okay pa sana if you're a bit of DIY inclined or have a friend who's experienced into car audio, but if not.. go for the usual DSPs which are manually adjustable. These are the likes of Audison BitTen, Mosconi 4to6, etc. and would cost you around 20k. Right now, those two are the better "budget" DSP processors out there that's pretty popular with installers.

There are cheaper ones.. but I wouldn't recommend them for non-DIY people. These are the likes of MiniDSP kits which you'll have to import pa from Hong Kong.

I am planning to buy external amplifier - Mono for Subs and 4-ch for Seps (I'm not sure if this is what you are talking about...just a newbie). If I buy those, do I still need DSP since those will modulate the sounds. Here is the list that I am planning to buy:

    Seps: DLS R6N - P13,000
    Mono Amp: JBL GTO14001 (Mono) - 16K
    4-Ch Amp: Sound Magus C90 - around 7K I think
Deadening Sheets - no sure on the budget but I want it install on 4-doors
Fabrication - 6K - Lalagyanan ng seps sa side ng pintuan (align with the side mirror)
Already have a 2 12" subs with box with me with bass control

I am planning to do this with Mach2Audio or Mickeys para sure quality.

Let me know if those will suffice somewhat SQ type of setup... Gusto ko lang magdrive ng maganda ang tunog ng kotse para kahit trapik di nakakabagot hehehe...

The only thing an amplifier will do is amplify the signal. Unless you're using an amplifier with built-in DSP (like Zapco's DSP lines) then yes, you will need a DSP. Also, I'm not getting the fabrication part -- sides ng pintuan? All cars have stock speaker mounting locations naman.

I suggest you first go to your installer and ask them for their options with regards to your goals and budgets. This is because they can more accurately asses your needs. I wouldn't underestimate the "hidden" costs of fabrication, woodworks (if you plan to), and wiring.

Thank you for giving me some enlightenment.

I decided to go to Loud and Clear instead of SQ after hearing some samples to some shops. I tried looking for reviews about Dominations RS 6.2 but unable to get one in the site. Anything that you can recommend for Loud and Clear Speakers? I also decided to change my HU as well. Here are the initial specification:

    Dominations RS 6.2
    Dominations ES 4-channels
    Alpine W520E Head Unit
    Alpine H100 processor

If there are any speakers that you can recommend, please let me know.

For loud and clear, it's more of a matter on how far are you willing to spend.

For those with a smaller budget, I simply suggest your typical car audio speakers and just get more of them. The analogy of this is simple: one speaker is loud, two speakers will be louder.

I do not recommend you spend more than 10k for your typical speaker set in a loud and clear setup. It's better to simply get cheaper ones (if you're going for Dominations, go for the 5,000php Buddy speakers) and just get more of them. This is because getting "better" ones aren't efficient in tackling your problem -- you're limited by speaker design and mechanical engineering rather than inferior materials.

Now, for those with more Php1000 bills in their wallets, your route to go is to use pro-audio drivers. These are the speaker drivers behind your everyday P.A. systems and concert speakers. These are different from your typical speaker sets is because they're optimized to go very loud on the downside of limited audio bandwidth.. This is why those who use these usually go 3-way (a dedicated tweeter, midrange, midbass) and a subwoofer for the sub-bass. Examples of brands such as these is Spain's Beyma.

good evening. plano ko iupgrade yung audio setup nung fx namin, it has four speakers, i think they're 6 inches (2 on front doors, 2 at the back of the jumpseats(?)) and a unknown brand for the HU and thin wirings. gusto ko sana step-by-step upgrade starting with the wirings and HU. i also want to add two speakers (2 to be mounted at the passenger doors). im not really keen with having tweeters at the dashboard though.

    eto target sequence ko:

    1. upgrade HU to deh2450ub or similar, just a good brand HU with ample connectivity like USB, AUX, iPod, CD; SD card is a bonus nalang. plus sabay na yung installation ng antenna (stock is broken) and wirings kasi nagpapalya na yung sa driver side door. magpalagay na rin ng standby wiring sa rear passenger doors for the speaker upgrade.

    2. install sound deadening on the flooring, doors and ceiling <-is this necessary?

    3. upgrade the speakers.

tama ba yung sequence? and magkano kaya mga sir ang ilalaan kong budget for this project? i just want clear music playing in the background, no fancy eardrum-blasting bass with the windows down. lol

also, head units can only accomodate four speakers right? or am i wrong? lol

addendum: ill have this DIY. but first i need to know if tama yung gagawin kong sequence, and yung gauge ng wires. hehe

    1. Sound deadening is simply optional as it's expensive for budget setups. If ever you want to, just deaden the doors where you'll be putting the speakers.

    2. How many "speakers" can a head unit accomodate depends on their speaker-level and pre-out connections.

    3. As for the gauge, you just try to get the the thickest that's sanely possible. I would suggest a 13AWG speaker wire gauge para wala ka na problema.. but 16AWG would do.

    ---

And just do it this way:

    1. Buy a head unit which you can use its functions (if you don't use Bluetooth, it's kinda useless to purchase a BT capable one right?)
    2. Change speakers
    3. See if satisfied..
    4. Proceed with more upgrades.

thanks sir. will scout for 16AWG muna.

and yes, i only plan to purchase a head unit with CD, AUX, and USB (+iPod) functionality. Bluetooth is useless to me. apparently my target HU can accommodate only four speakers. ill change speakers later on.

my purpose sa deadening is to reduce outside noise sana, considering this is an old vehicle and door shell is lawanit only.

If then so, deadening will yield won't give you what you're primarily expecting. This is because sound insulation is only a secondary function of the buyl or asphalt MLV sheets you can buy in car audio shops. Their primary purpose is to add mass to a car in order to lower the resonant frequency of the panel. It's like hitting a metal with a stick... it's go TINNGGG.. but if you add mass like your hand, it'll dampen the sound.
