currently have front door separates power by headunit. contemplating on diy install of amplifier and subwoofer.
can anyone give step by step install procedure?
did some reading on the net but not sure... bale hindi na gagamitin yon stock speaker wire to front door and kailangan put new wire from amp to crossover?
how hard is it to snake speaker wire thru the rubber grommet of front door?
everytime mag on ng radio naka on rin amp?![]()
Mas advisable talaga new wires from amp to speakers para mamaximize mo yung output ng amp for the speakers
Placing wires sa rubber grommet?! Depende sa sasakyan. Usually pag first time gagalawin, may kahirapan plus kung maraming dumaan na oem wires sa rubber grommet, it will take time na maisuksok yung wires.
Everytime mag on yung radio nakaon din yung amp? Yes and dapat...May remote wire output from the headunit to the remote input ng amp which is responsible for this...kasama na yang remote wire for every wiring kit you will buy...
Happy DIY. Pero kung alangang gawin, mas okay parin painstall nalang...ako, when i was starting with car audio, nanood-nood muna and observe...after when may knowledge na and lakas ng loob, ako na naginstall...

Head unit -> <RCA or Speaker-level out> -> Amplifier -> <wires> -> Crossover -> <wires to tweeter and midwoofer>. Your typical 2-way setup with passive crossovers.
You need not be fussy in the wires really. Not much need in branded either. What you need to look out for is that they're of proper AWG depending on the length you'll be running them. Most would go for 18AWG.. although it won't hurt to go for 13AWG (which is what I typically use) if you'll be wiring them on a longer length. If you're using rather old wires, check for oxidation.

okay lang ba i connect ang speaker wire (from amp) for front separates sa wire harness directly sa likod ng headunit?
^ add to question above...
or mas better put new speaker wires goin thru door grommets?
Mga bossing anu magandang brand and model ng 10" na sub na di lalagpas ng 5k?
Nasunog ko kasi yung DD 510 LE ko e.
I'll still use my enclosure, sayang naman kasi.
Pwede...tried this in one of our vehicles...i installed a sub and a 4 channel amp...two channels bridge for the sub then yung natirang two, yun yung tinap ko sa wiring harness...no plans of replacing the oem seps kaya tinap ko nalng sa amp...wala narin akong budget and time for additional speaker wires...okay naman tunog pero cant handle louder volume kasi naclicliping na of course...if you have time and money, much better kung bagong speaker wires from amp to speakers...pwede kung sa pwepwede pero "half-baked" para skin...
heard good feedback about lightning lab...mura na okay naman daw performance...some say comparable pa nga daw sa mga branded speakers...based lang to sa personal experience ng kaibigan/kakilala at nababasa ko ha...i havent tried their products but would want to try it as well...
Other brands you might want to consider are entry level of jbl, ryan audio, kicker, powerbass, or DD ka ulit! actually maraming choices...
Guys I need your inputs...I was thinking of installing a boom box (active) sa Innova ko. Maybe one 4 channel amp to power the seperates. Crossover? TIA for your inputs.
mga sir, ask ko lang kung advisable ba na gumamit ng "active subwoofer" in replacement sa mga raw na subwoofer na need pa ng amp? thanks po
^^^Sir, what would be your reason for considering active subwoofer? For SQ or SPL use po? For what vehicle?
Whether it's active or passive has not much impact on the performance of a subwoofer. The difference between the two is that passive ones are highly customizable wherein active configuration subwoofers are like all-in-ones. It's like computers, the passive types are the ones you buy parts in Gilmore while you construct them spec-by-spec while the other is much like buying that shiny new Alienware you saw at the store outright.
Most car subwoofers are of the passive variety. This is because it's up to the installers to choose the best type of box and driver that would suit the owner's demand and taste. For example, sometimes space is an issue so an installer has to find a way to fit a >1.0 cf box inside the car.
Most home subwoofers, on the otherhand, are active. The simple ones simply consists of signal plugs (subwoofer RCAs for sub-level signals), a filter, and a AC power supply. The more expensive ones have a lot of features such as subwoofer parametric EQ, level control, phase adjustment, etc. In more cases than not, home subwoofers are quite expensive because of their extreme box engineering (like I said, the box determines the performance) which can be in the form of additional bracing, thicker panels, a more rigid type of wood, etc. which is why some people pay more than Php 200,000 for a JL Fanthom subwoofer while the less affluent settles for Php 100,000 Velodynes.
In a car environment, first know your needs.. then you construct a box according to that need. Afterwards, you worry about which driver to throw in the box. That's how experienced people do it NOT the opposite way which most people do (select subwoofer -> construct box -> done).
P.S. Most car active subwoofers simply... suck.
Basta hwag lang magexpect ng sobra...try to audition/demo it first para you have an idea...
Mga sir, ako din my question...i have a v12 F710 na nakatago na...nagamit ko sya ng mga 1 to 2 years...may problema lang ako sa rca input nya for channel 3 and 4...for some reason nabasag yung plastic part ng rca...pagawa ko pa kaya para magamit or mabenta? may alam ba kayo na pwedeng pagawaan kung worth it ipagawa? Thanks!
goodeve tsikoters.. newbie here. my ride is a 2003 crosswind xuv, i would like to change the rear speakers, i am still using the original oem speaker at the moment but i am not satisfied with its bass its lacking the thump that i am looking for. Can you suggest a good 6.5inch speakers with a good thumping bass? i am not planning to put a sub because i need the space. Anyway, i changed the stock front speaker with a sony xplod XS-GTF1027 4inch 2 way speaker. I am thinking of getting sony xplod or pioneer 6.5 for the rear. i just dont know what to get, my initial budget is 5k. By the way my HU is a pioneer deh-1550ub.
follow-up questions.
1. what kind of speaker should i use on the rear considering that i am looking for that boom-boom factor without using a sub? coaxial, midrange, component, 1 way, 2way, 3 way etc??
2. is my front speaker sony xplod XS-GTF1027 enough or should i change it?
