If you put a subwoofer on the back and back-firing, it's actually harder to tune it as the trunk cabin acts as a sound bouncer (think shouting inside a cave..). For what it's worth, one of the legends of the industry Karl Zausmer had a 15 inch subwoofer at his front passenger area after extensive modifications. It was nuts but he's a legend now isn't he?
