Salamat sir!

June 14th, 2016 07:31 AM #24First time I've seen anyone replace their ford Sync with an aftermarket headunit. How do you change the car settings?

I'm honestly NOT comfortable using head units running Android (I personally use my phone/tablet).
These devices run a forked version of Android based on older versions of the software...
Their not certified by Google which means the Play Store was side loaded.
My biggest concern is that you'll need to sync the device to your Google Account which includes personal details and credit card information...
Sadly, we basically have no choice since Android Auto is not yet available locally...
Best we can do is use AutoMate or a head unit that supports MirrorLink...

March 17th, 2017 10:43 AM #27Up ko lang to.
Been reading about Android Head Units online and it seems na Joying ang OK specially yung quad core units nila. Locally sold ba Joying sa mga known audio shops? How about Growl Audio? Nakita ko for Civic FD mas ok unit nila since almost OEM look siya. May mga nakita din ako pics sa FB ng ibang audio shops na walang branding sa harap so I'm not sure kung sino manufacturer ng Android HUs nila.

Most Chinese phones are using forked Android OS either, the one thing that keeps me from getting Android based HUs is their UI. Mukhang generic Android tablet na dinikit sa dashboard, save for other OEMs na may custom launcher na pang HU talaga.
Pwede sana Mirrorlink, kaso AFAIK the experience will not be as fluid kasi may lag. Kapag screen mirroring lang, di pwede ma-control ang phone gamit ang touch screen ng HU.
Pero galing ng Growl Audio, may app sila pang control ng TV Plus using touch screen lang.
Sana may gumawa ng HU na capacitive screen (multitouch gestures), Mirrorlink (not just screen mirroring), HDMI input and built in Digital TV tuner.

Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
