^most likely thats an apple car..if the head unit is hotspot enabled just turn it on

If not just augment it with an LTE modem. If you currently own a smartphone that is LTE capable, just turn on the hot spot or tethering function of the mobile

Connect the wifi of audis head unit to the mobile phone hotspot and thats it

Everything turned out to be much steeper than I thought. It turns out that the on-board computer not only allows you to connect a phone based on Android or IOS, but also allows you to duplicate the picture from your phone to the regular screen. Even connected via Wi-fi, pleases the lack of unnecessary wires.

Good thing the blue button illumination setting matches my stock dash knobs (can be changed to different colors). Managed to get a blue colored theme in Torque to match the button lamps. Spotify and Waze running seamlessly in the background. Not bad for a device with 1GB RAM and a Rockchip 3188 chipset with a quadcore 1.6ghz processor.

I use the SianoTV app for my unit which pairs with the portable TV tuner using wifi but I only tune to SD channels since the portable TV tuner (designed for tabletop use on for mobile phones) can't keep up with the bandwidth when in motion. However, there are standalone ISDB-T tuners that are specific to car use with high gain antennas which you may connect using the rear av-in. Those units can handle HD broadcasts even when vehicle is in motion. That would be my next project after getting the OEM steering wheel controls for my car which should pair w/o problems as tested on a unit with existing SWC.

^it happens to all tuners, that phenomenon is known as the doppler effect. Thats pretty much the same effect when an ambulance siren approaching you and moving away from you

Its the same principle employed in radar guns to determine a cars speed in motion while the radar gun is stationary (tv station)

Wifi tv can also be connected to external antenna

Unfortunately the newer models with Lollipop don't. red_one of D3 Technologies sells them. You can PM him in Tsikot. Kaso out of stock daw

Ah ok. I thought meron din slot sa newer models. Nacheck ko na FB page ng D3 before. Yung may physical buttons and volume knob lang kasi nakita. Might PM him this week.

Changed head unit from Pioneer to Joying 7" Pure Android. Plug and play. Installation was a breeze. It uses same wire color coding as my Pioneer head unit. Touchscreen LCD is very responsive. Sound quality is excellent. Intel Quad Core CPU, 2GB RAM, 32GB Storage.
