i have tried using kerosene to remove asphalt on my 2-mos old car and didn't had any issues. just make sure the part that was applied with kerosene is thoroughly cleaned and waxed afterwards. Also, make sure that the kerosene does not stay on the paint for too long.

by the way, how much did it cost for the repainting of the bumper?

sir, correct me if i'm wrong pero yung sayo is already 2 months old and fully cured na from the factory pa lang. yung sakin is freshly-painted, actually di pa nga tapos. badtrip na nga ako sa casa. naisip ko lang yung scenario na 'to dahil babyahe ako after ko makuha. di ko alam sir kung magkano kasi participation fee lang babayaran ko sa casa pag natapos na.

i hope it becomes a regular household product. they're selling licenses now. it's up to those companies to make use of neverwet.

there aren't much details yet on how to apply it, what if it's like Teflon that needs high temp to bond, they made teflon sprays but those don't have the same durability as those on frying pans. i've seen a pic of neverwet where the droplets are not spherical but same ol dome shaped. gamitin na muna ang nasa garahe na mga silicon based coatings habang abangers. sa halip na maubos, nadadagdagan. napakasaya naman.

Washing:

I bought the ff. for washing my car weekly:

- microtex car shampoo
- microtex washmitt for shampoo application
- microtex elite for drying
- microtex tire black
- mother's tire brush


Questions:

1. Is it okay to use the shampoo weekly? Sabi sa label it won't strip wax.
2. Weekly rin ba ang application ng tire black? Okay na ba yung microtex na brand for tire black?

Waxing:

I have the ff.:

- meguiar's ultimate quik wax
- microtex nanoglos
- microtex nanosliq
- micromagic wax applicator
- microtex ultra plush, 1 for nanoglos, 1 for collinite

Will buy Collinite 915 soon.

Yun na lang muna. Wala pa akong alam sa mga sealants, glazes, cleaning wax, polishing wax, etc.

cleaner wax ka sa una tsaka na ang pag patong patong ng wax. importante ang malinis ang pintura, sunod lamang ang wax. sa cleaner wax sapul ng isang bato ang 2 itlog.

tama ang paghugas ng kotse ng kada linggo o mas madalas at laging may shampoo para madulas. tsaka mo na rin isipin ang pag glaze sa pagtago ng mga gasgas ngunit kung gusto mo talagang subukan, gawin mo nang per panel.

pag kumpleto mo na ang clay bar kit at collinite kabisado mo na ang paglinis at pagpaganda sa sasakyan mo. pwede ang collinite ipatong sa na cleaner wax o nanoglos.

malaking microfiber na tuwalya na malakas simipsip ng tubig ang kailangan mo upang mapadali ang pagtuyo sa bagong hugas na kotse, sa gayon di ka tatamarin maghugas. masdan mo rin kung ano ang malinis kung hahayaang matuyo, tubig sa gripo o tubig ulan.

I'd consider getting a second washmitt (can be a cheaper brand) for your lower panels.

Yes, no issues with using the shampoo weekly. Make sure you use it in the proper dilution (instructions call for two capfuls for 2.5 liters of water, which work out to around 1:83).

Microtex is a good brand for tire black (it's what I use). You probably won't need to apply weekly (maybe every other week), but I find myself doing so anyway, since I like to the look of freshly dressed tires.

Good product selection. I'd consider getting more towels. No need to get the ultra plush, the plush will do. I'd get two to three Microtex Terrys (for wax removal) and two or three Plush towels (for QD and final wipe).

Just to clarify, there is a difference between drying and curing time. You generally let a wax dry (haze over), and then buff it off. However, you still need to give it some time after that to cross-link - this is the curing time. For your case, here's what I'd do.

Week 1: wash + NanoGlos (dry, buff, cure) + 915 (dry, buff, cure)
Week 2: wash + NanoSliq
Week 3: wash + NanoSliq
Week 4: wash + UQW
Week 5: wash + NanoSliq
Week 6: wash + NanoSliq
Week 7: start again

Before this though, I would do the week 1 step, but then just do weekly washes, until you see the 915 deteriorating. Why? This is so you can get baseline for how long the 915 will last, given your driving and parking conditions - then you can gauge whether you can go up to two months in between 915 applications.

Weekly carwash is fine. You can also apply the UQW weekly, but I wouldn't - there's no point in spending the money for a durable product if you're not going to leverage on that durability. Apply it after three weeks - that with the NanoSliq should be more than enough to keep your 915 layer healthy in between applications. Keep things simple, no need to multi-layer and over-complicate things

Try and find a dry span of time when you wax (check your weather forecasts )

It should be ok, though you might not get the best durability. One thing I will say is that you should really consider claying first - it's one of the most bang-for-the-buck things you can do, in terms of immediate results. You will definitely feel the difference in an unclayed and a clayed surface, especially if the car hasn't been maintained in a long time. Also, sometimes just claying can help increase paint clarity and gloss. Also, as indiej has mentioned, it's worth using a cleaner wax or pre-wax cleaner the first time - this will help pull embedded contaminants from the car, and will, along with clay, ensure a clean surface to work with. The NanoGlos does have some mild cleaners, but a dedicated pre-wax cleaner/cleaner wax would be more effective. You can probably find sachets of turtle wax cleaner wax in malls; heck, if you're not in the general area, I could probably give you some pre-wax cleaner to use on your car.

Nabasa ko somewhere na hindi na raw okay ang terry cloth. Kaya panay ultra plush binili ko. 2 lang naman.
So ganito: 1 wax applicator pad for each. cleaner wax, nanoglos, 915 at nanosliq.
For wax removal, 1 plush/ultra plush cloth per wax (kulang pa ko ng 2). For buffing, same cloth pero ibang side. I-fold ko na lang.
Tapos for uqd, balak kong bumili ng meguiar's supreme shine.

Mothers or Meguiar's would be ok. If you can find it, something like Klasse All-In-One/Carlack Nano Systematic Care or Optimum Poli-Seal would be better.

The Mothers kit is pretty good - it includes a QD (for lubricant) and a towel already. I have some Meguiar's professional mild clay that I'm selling - that's just the clay, though it contains 25% more clay than the Mothers kit. Yes, you'll need a clay lubricant when claying - the most cost effective one would be Optimum No-Rinse in clay lube dilution.

The Turtle Wax liquid clay isn't as effective as a proper clay bar. I have read, though, that it actually makes a good pre-wax cleaner - so that's one option to consider in place of the cleaner wax.

I would not use cotton terry towels. However, the Microtex Terry towels are made of microfiber, and they're very good for wax removal. Generally, shorter-strand MFs are better at removing wax, as you need a bit of "bite" to remove the wax residue.

So ganito: 1 wax applicator pad for each. cleaner wax, nanoglos, 915 at nanosliq.

You don't need an applicator for the NanoSliq - you apply it using a towel (similar to UQW).

For wax removal, 1 plush/ultra plush cloth per wax (kulang pa ko ng 2). For buffing, same cloth pero ibang side. I-fold ko na lang.
Tapos for uqd, balak kong bumili ng meguiar's supreme shine.

As mentioned above, shorter-strand MFs are better for wax removal. I suppose you could go with all plush, just use the shorter side. The plush can be used for UQW as well - no need to buy the Meg's Supreme shine.

So:

wax removal - shorter strand MF
final buff - longer strand MF
QD - longer strand MF (if cleaning dust)
QD/spray wax - shorter strand MF (if you're sure that the surface is clean, like after a wash)

Sheeting is also an indication of wax protection - it's pretty easy to tell if a car sheets water well or not. I prefer to use this as my indicator, actually

Start waxing the car already - better to have your paint protected. When you get the dent fixed, if you're having it repainted, just make sure your painter knows that you've been waxing the car, so they can strip the panel being repainted appropriately (they should be doing this anyway). Afterwards, you'll have to use a fresh paint safe glaze or wax while the paint cures, to prevent fisheyes and solvent pop.

here's my recommendation based on the products you currently have:

1. instead of buying 915, i suggest you get klasse twins ( KSG and KAIO ) since you already have the ultimate quick wax. wax over a sealant would be a better combo. Klasse All in One ( KAIO ) will also be good alternative to a cleaner wax. so you hit 2 birds with 1 stone with the twins.

2. instead of getting a mothers clay bar kit ( clay + lube ) , it would be better and more economical to buy a seperate clay only and ONR as clay lube. Showtime Instant Detailer included in the mothers kit is only good for 2 cars at most. ONR on the other hand , can be used for other purposes like clay lube, QD and rinseless wash. dilution for clay lube is 1:64 so it would be more economical.

try to use a compound else wet sanding and compounding/polishing should get rid of that yellowing.
