sir umi/rna/other masters in the know, seeking your advice on what best to do, here's the situation:

had one panel repainted with the color and type of paint as OEM. however, now on its 6th month, it seems that this repainted panel looks dull compared with the other panels with the original paint. ofcourse the repainted panel does not have that oem orange peel effect/finish. it seems that the panel repainted lacks the luster and "tingkad" of the paint color. yes makintab sya pero compared with the rest of the car, kulang sa tinkad yung kulay nya. dark color pa naman paint ng car ko.

is the problem with the top coat of the repainted panel? do i need to polish or rub down this panel's top coat so this will be at par with the rest/orig paint? i've polished this panel with paint cleaner/step 1 of Mothers, then polished it with nano sil, both using an orbital machine, then hand applied step 2 mothers polish/seal, then top it off with collinite 915. sure shiny as it can be but still pales in color sa rest of the car.

kulang ba sa polishing ingredients yung step 1 and nanosil? do i need to apply the polishing compound or rubbing compound to make it as dark as the rest? will the 3M polishing compound sold in sachets do the job to get my desired result?

    thanks.

First off, a caveat - keeping a car glossy and shiny is more about how you maintain the finish, through proper washing techniques and paint cleansing, decontamination and (as needed) polishing, than it is about the wax or sealant that you use. That said...

If you're not looking into spending hours and hours on the car, but are just looking for an effective product that will help keep that car looking good without too much effort, I would recommend a wax with cleaners. A good option available OTC would be Mother's California Gold Synthetic Wax - it has a fair bit of cleaning ability, to remove any ingrained dirt and grime from your paint's finish, has good looks (a nice darkening effect), and reasonable durability.

If you're planning on getting a bit more involved in detailing, you can opt for a separate paint cleaner and wax. I would go with Meguiar's Deep Crystal paint cleaner (again available OTC), and then for the wax, would choose one of the Collinites - 915 for darker colors, 476 or 845 for lighter colors and metallics (Collinite is not available OTC, but you can find a lot of sellers on Sulit; the main Philippine distributor is Jerome of Autobisyo). I've also read that HD Car Care products are available in select Robinson's DIY stores - their HD Poxy would be a good option, too, if available.

The price is definitely worth it. My 1 can of Collinite 476S is still with me after 3 years. Medyo konti na lang pero I think this will last me until early to mid 2014.

You mean pinaka-last? Hmm, pwede because it's an LSP. As sir umi said, maraming pwedeng magawa sa paint if you really have time. You can create your own detailing regimen like what sir umi has mentioned.
