June 25th, 2015 10:06 PM #1923keep your regimen simple. wash/dry > clay > polish > apply sealant or wax. you can skip the claying and polishing if smooth pa at makintab yung paint surface then do the normal wash and wax.
read the Tamang OC thread from the beginning and you will learn a lot...
When you sa "apply sealant or wax" sir, i will only apply only one of these two? or pwedeng lets say, Megs NXT tech wax or Mother & Megs step 2 then top up ko ng Collinite as my LSP.
ang gulo talaga sir, nakakalito hehehe. actually nalilito ako about sa sealant, polish and glaze. ang nakakalito eh yung next step after claying at before applying ng wax

June 25th, 2015 11:47 PM #1924The way I see it, you have 2 parts in detailing the exterior of a car: Preparation and Protection.
Once you prep the surface parang hubad yan wala sya protection. Claying, compounding, polishing is under the prep part. I usually assume that Claying and compounding is more aggressive than polishing so inuuna ko muna si clay then si compound and last ko si polish. ( Compound and polish in what I do is optional, usually once or twice a year ko lng ginagawa depende sa condition nung paint ).
Protection usually involves the sealant and waxing part. I assume that the sealant I use is more durable than the wax, so inuuna ko muna si sealant then I layer the wax above it. ( plus I like the finish of my wax than my sealant ). Pag di ka nag prep at dumiretso ka sa protection, pwede rin naman pero the result might not be as great kung may prep part and the durability of your protection might not be as good.
Then there are products that fall in both categories, pasok ata dito si Klasse AIO, kaya nga siguro siya all in one?. I usually apply KAIO as my last step in the prep part. Then the Glazes, pwede siya pang prep since it can hide minor imperfections pero sakin kung ok compunding/polishing mo you might not need it, I don't know if it can protect but some glazes will tell you it can add gloss and depth to your paint ang di lang ako kampante is that it may degrade the durability of my sealant and wax since nakapatong sila sa glaze, so in my regimen I dont use glazes ;)
In between my detailing regimen is my maintenance part, this usually involves washing your car and applying your quick detailer. BTW I wash the car prior to claying ;)

polishing is prepping your paint surface para maalis lahat ng defects bago ka mag-apply ng LSP. cleaner wax or prewax cleaner as the name implied ay gaya ng nasabi mo inaapply bago magwax to get rid of mga residues during polishing para maganda kapit ng sealant o wax. i have no idea sa mothers at megs eh.
you can apply sealant or wax alone as your LSP or pwede magkapatong. rule of thumb is sealant muna then let it cure or give time to bond sa paint bago mo patungan ng wax.
para di ka malito, just follow yung basic regimen na wash > clay > polish > LSP. yung glaze is parang filler lang to hide imperfections kung hindi natanggal lahat during polishing. halimbawa merong scratch at swirls na hindi natanggal during polishing pwede maitago yan ng glaze para looking makinis yung paint surface.
after claying is polishing, either by hand or machine. dito mo inaalis mga imperfections ng paint like swirls, gasgas, mga oversprays etc. kapag severe yung condition ng paint need mo mag compounding, if mga swirls lang at minor scratches pwede na yung mga swirl removers. try to read mga detailing sites like autogeek, detailed image at autopia, maraming mga write ups about detailing, tamang paggamit at application ng mga polish/sealant/waxes. read back karin dito sa mga forum ng tsikot sigurado mga tanong mo may sagot na somewhere. enjoy detailing
