its been a while since my last post. glad to see this thread still going strong. need your advice again mga gurus...

1. been using moms step 1 on my 3 month old white ride for prepping/polishing purposes. id like to switch to megs DACP kasi mas mura lalabas in the long run if i buy the 1 gallon sa simex. ok ba 'to gamitin on my fairly new ride, or is it too abrasive?
2. planning to buy the bosch GEX150AC ROP. kakapagod na kasi mag step 1 by hand eh. ok daw 'to as per posts sa PAD. meron bang may alam kung saan available 'to and magkano na ito nowadays?
3. tried rainhop paste for the first time. liked the results kaso takaw sa alikabok. how long would this wax last? ok ba i-layer muna ng synwax tapos rainhop?

Dami nyan sa True Value, you can try the Bosch shop sa Shangrila as well.

stubby: maganda yang Bosch.. less noise sa DeWalt.

anymore details again on your ride? like what color? if your car is relatively defect free, go for a product milder than DACP. since you're planning to go to simex, ask for speed glaze there.. you can use this before sealing.

BTW, there are other factors to consider such as the foam pad, technique, skill level on a machine..etc.

Rainhop is very good and it beads like crazy. the look it gives is average but this is compensated by the protection it provides. Synwax is very much like NXT, albeit NXT fills better IMO. but Synwax beats NXT when it comes to product removal. sobrang dali.

if you're planning to put Rainhop over Synwax, you're not taking much from the look of synwax. (it's the process involved and not the LSP...) you'll be adding on to the durability of course but bear in mind that rainhop didn't bond directly to the surface.

also, how often do you wax?

with the kind of weather we're getting these days, getting durable protection for your paint is what us enthusiasts need.

leinahtan, i didnt know how it looked like until your post so i guess thats it. ganda pala! this will be the first time ill be buying and using a machine for detailing my precious ride. i knew of this bosch model sa PAD when someone posted re using this tool with DACP. and he seemed very satisfied with it.

theveed, would you suggest this machine for a detailing newbie like me? ive done detailing on my ride as you gurus have adviced me previously sa thread na ito pero all by hand lang. now i want to get a machine kasi nakakapagod na kung by hand. minsan tinatamad na tuloy ako mag detail. was planning to get the BND WP1300 pero rotary yon eh, bigat pa! would you know of another model or brand that better fits me and could possibly be even cheaper? or is this model perfect for me already? pls consider my budget being around p5t to p6t lang.

dehadista, white mz3 ride ko. sa dami ng nag post dito im sure di niyo na ako matandaan. pero i even posted pics of my ride before. i was the one who even had that long list of i think 12 questions when i started posting. i think nasa # 950s yung post number nung mga previous posts ko. alaga ko yung car ko in terms of detailing - thanks to you guys who have given us newbies numerous lessons. i do cleaning/polishing then waxing every 3 weeks to a month, all by hand. quick detailer every week. been using moms step 1, synwax, eo1wws. with a machine, mas sisipagin ako mag detail kaya i can probably do it every 1 or 2 weeks na.

i like the results of rainhop on its own. the shine is ok with me. it actually even seems to be at par with the synwax. considering what youve mentioned, ill stick with rainhop na lang on its own and not layer this over synwax so it will bond well to the surface. tag-ulan kasi kaya im more for protection nowadays fr the rains. im just concerned about its durability on the surface of my car under our kind of weather. relatively mura kasi at p300 lang yata if i remember right, paste pa.

re alikabok, what i experience is that if i leave the dust on the surface when i leave for the office in the morning, park the car, then it rains (wala bubong parking ko), parang dumidikit yung alikabok sa surface and the car looks malibag na pag natuyo yung auto after the rain. pangit kasi tingnan eh dahil puti kotse ko. mukha tuloy pinapabayaan ko yung auto at di ko linilinis. this is the reason why i mind that damn dust kahit tag ulan.

i will consider speed glaze instead. how is this compared to moms step 1? isnt this more of a glaze (as the name implies) than a cleaner? i intend to use this kasi for the same purpose as moms step 1. also, ok ito with an ROP right?

stubby: one thing you can do during the rainy season is buy a booster wax like Eagle One's Wax As You Dry. Apply it twice a week and your set to supplement your wax/sealant layer.

Yes, a ROP is always a good tool to have (might get one for myself as well, hassle mag linis ng libag by hand)... That Bosch unit is better than DW443, ingay ng DW.

hehe maingay talaga yung DeWalt.. talo pa yung Makita Rotary kahit naka-todo na.

stubby: ok I remember na.. hehe.. anyway, just wait till the rainy season subsides a bit before doing some heavy multi-process detailing work. in the meantime, a cleaner wax would be a great in-betweener for RainHop. don't worry about the durability ng Rainhop. this one lasts.

BTW, meron sa Simex na #66 Quick Detailer.. eto yung Professional Line Cleaner Wax nila.

BTW, Speed Glaze is actually a mild polish. don't let its name fool you.

dehadista: do they sell speed glaze in repackaged bottles? parang gusto kong gayahin yung technique ng Bigberts... they put their sealant / polishes in a seringe then "inject" the contents on the cars paint pretty cool, specially for Megs DACP and other products in repackaged containers.
