well, black paint is trully a challenge hehehe. It can be a positive thing or negative. maganda talaga black if done right. silver is really a nice color to maintain. when we got our pickup, sabi ni misis parang kulang sa buhay yun silver and she wanted a maroon... buti sana kung sya yun magdedetail
hahaha medyo hirap na ako sa maintenance ng red
dehadista,
naku dyan nagsisimula yan... hmmm wash and glaze lang muna... but at the end of the day you see yourself polishing, waxing, sealing etc hehehehe

hmm.. 3 weeks pa lang since I got my ride again. I'm debating whether to push through with a complete detail.. hehehe...
o kaya glaze na lang muna uli.. gusto ko na kasi i-seal ang paint! and mukhang tapos na din ang pag-outgas ng paint on my ride...
haay naku.. decisions, decisions... hahaha

Mga Sir,
My car's a blue 1998 Corolla. May water spots na sya kasi parked outdoors all the time. Balak ko sana bumili Mother's pre-wax cleaner. Tapos meron pa kong Turtle Wax Express Shine. Then what do you recommend? Medyo short sa budget kaya please lang po make some considerations...TIA!

I would recommend the Mothers step one, provided that the waterspots hasnt dried long enough to eat thru the paint, then top off with Mothers Carnuba Wax. But since you already have the turtle wax might as well use that sayang naman. If Mothers doesnt work you can try Meguiars Medallion Paint Cleaner or Meguairs DACP but you'll need a machine for that.

budget constraints? maraming OTC products readily available that can help you out. Eagle One, Mom's, Megs, TW...
try a less abrasive product muna such as a cleaner wax or, like what you said, Mom's Pre-Wax Cleaner.
you can also try using a scratch remover and work on the spots one by one. (wag muna rubbing compound, this is way too harsh) only bring out the bigger guns when you have a hard time removing them. use the Scratch remover by hand and work on the spots.
then apply your wax.

zechs: Kahit carnuba wax na lang, skip the glaze, after two or 3 days, wala na yung glaze. Yup sarap tignan pag bagong wax lalo na pag may sunshine parang salamin auto mo kita mo yung reflections

dahil sa rainy season tanggal ang glaze kagad. that's why I'm opting for protection na lang..
update: ILD, went to work on my ride today. but due to time constraints, Clay, Speed Glaze lang on a Rotary and Mom's Reflections with a ROP.. unfortunately, no digicams because naiwan sa Office...
naubusan na din ako ng QD.. time to restock. heheheLast edited by chain; June 25th, 2005 at 02:18 PM.
